....to get some Noobs into to Lowsec, and came up with this;

I will offer ten(10) players 5 Rifters each with the standard CookieCutter fitting. I do not want nor expect anything in return. However, if they are lost too other players in a nice fireball, there will be a little bonus. Will be thinking of something nice here, ideas/suggestions are welcome.

Now, you might wonder what the purpose with this would be, well, the obvious is of course that I want more targets, but I also feel that some Noobs hesitate to take the plunge into Lowsec 'cause of the risk of losing, therefore I offer this for free. Just for the fun of it.

I've been subscribed since March 2008 and have gone from mining to missionrunning and onto exploration and mixed in some 0.0 politics and POS-bashing. But there was one thing I never did try until a few days ago. Pirating/PvP-ingYARRRR!!. Somehow I missed it.

So I sold off my old main and the alt, paid the sub two yrs ahead and whats leftover is invested in this char and some fellow PvP-noobs.

How does this sound? Any interest at all? Anyone else willing to do the same to get some fresh fish into Lowsec?
I would offer my advise but I really don't know much about how to be good at PvP but I try to learn by my mistakes and rather go in guns blazin giving it all I got.

Great. I agee noobs wait to long to get into PvP.
you can PvP a few days into the game...with a simple rifter!..
want proof?
http://morgals.blogspot.com/2011/08/first-solo-pvp-kill.html
I just killed a t2 frigate using my rifter.

Not sure low sec is the best place with it's odd aggro rules and gate guns. I would suggest NPC 0.0 space.
Another option is faction warfare or the systems where it takes place. lots of targets normally in smaller cheaper ships.

the best time to pvp is when your new and ships and clones are cheap. A group of rifters can take out just about everything.

For low skills maybe armor buffered rifters rather than active tanked.

For advice...look like prey.

A few days ago I was in lowsec for the first time. I died. Because I was dumb and I promise to get better. I have no idea why I thought parking my shuttle next to a planet would make me remotely safe. Ah, nothing of value was lost.

Maybe I should just fit a rifter or thrasher with cheap components and go there to look for trouble... But I'd rather do that for myself than by being a part of some loose non-corp regulated practice session.

I am not offering any lessons at all. Just five rifters for free.
And you should fit out some ships and just give it a go. Go down in flames, its a great and fun way to learnYARRRR!!YARRRR!!

I suppose. It might be better than to wait until PvP finds me. I'm just moderately concerned about the repercussions it might have. After all everything you do in EVE has consequences.

I like the idea. Being mostly a highsec carebear, my problem is fitting for fun PvP fights. Can you post or evemail this char the fit? I'd like to try it, but since I can afford it, I'll fit out my own five rifters and let you know how it goes.

There's quite a few variations along the same line of the rifter theme, i tihkn the general allpurpose fit for a Tech 1 new player to try out is usually along the lines of ...

[Rifter, Rifter Tech1]
Gyrostabilizer I
Small Armor Repairer I
200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I

1MN Afterburner I
Warp Scrambler I
Stasis Webifier I

200mm AutoCannon I, EMP S
200mm AutoCannon I, EMP S
200mm AutoCannon I, EMP S
Rocket Launcher I, Gremlin Rocket

no DCU!?!?! GTFO

Also, bump for a decent idea. I must admit though, pvp just for the sake of going down is not much of a learning experience unless you know:

1) How the other person defeated you
2) What you could have done to defeat them
3) Mixing and understanding of the mechanics with the adrenaline.

Just throwin it out there

Above posted Rifter fitting is a good starting point, add in rigs to taste. Damage rigs and replace the gyrostab with an dcu. Or go the opposite direction and sheildrig it and gyrostabs in the lows...

And about PvPing just to go down in flames, its not really my intention, but it will happen and when it happends, talk to the guy/girl who defeated you, most of them out there is more then happy to give some tips and point you in the right direction. And humanity have always(with some exceptions) learned from their mistakes and moved on.

So if there is any noobs out there that is interested, feel free to contact me ingame, and I'll hook you up with some rifters. I'll answer questions as far as I can, but I'm still a PvP-noob myself.YARRRR!!

Here is an excellent Rifter guide written by a Mr Wensley RifterDrifter

Kudos to this guyYARRRR!!

Huh, I should easily be able to reproduce that fitting myself, adding Rigs, naturally, even though i'm actually shield tanking rather than armor tanking. I'm not even sure if it's better or worse for the Rifter. Since there were no bonuses I simply picked one.

Also, I recently aquired some help in human form. A friend of mine who joined me in EVE might help me as a wingman in my first PvP experiences.

The only things I'm wondering is picking a good target. I got the lingering feeling at the back of my head, that just opening fire at the first roaming player might have me end up picking a target that could "take it serious" and ends up making my life a living hell... Guess that's part of it all.

A couple of friends in Rifters can engage a larger number of targets then someone flying solo, however, droneboats are something to avoid, as in Vexor, Ruptures and Arbitrators etc.

And if some of your targets might "take it serious" you could always remind them of the fact that afterall it's just a game and some dead pixelsYARRRR!!
Making enemies is as fun as making friends, just gotta keep them closer so they cant track you with their gunsVery Happy

Shield or armor fitting is up to you, try both, pro's and con's with each.

Hit me up ingame, and we could fly together or go at each otherYARRRR!!
