Hi, looking for some advice.
I have an hp compaq presario running a fresh install of windows xp, no other programs installed except eve and when i start it up, cpu usage goes to 100% and the game goes to not responding'.
It has 2gig ram and a 1.8ghz sempron 3000+ (which im certain supports SSE2).
This laptop exceeds minimum system requirements.
Does anyone have any idea why I might not be able to run Eve on it?
Thanks in advance.

I think it might actually be an Intel 865G :S It seems near impossible to actually find out what it is though, system information and device manager wont even tell me.

If its an 865 it doesn't have Shader Model 3.0 support so its no use at all for Eve.

Intel Chipset Identification Tool might help.

I can't see it being an 865G as that chipset doesn't support AMD cpus.

Edit - if its a fresh install of XP then what did you use for graphics drivers?

Edit2 - looks like you might have ATI Mobility Radeon XPRESS 200M as your graphics. That doesn't support SM3 either - if I'm looking at the right laptop its nearly 7 years old matey, you got no chance at all of getting that working with Eve now.
