since each drone uses its races main wepons like
minmatar = projectile
ammar = energy
gallente = hybrid
caldari = launchers
^^^^^^^
caldari drones use blastors witch is cool but dosent make them any beter than any other race or cooler if i were to use a blastor drone it would of corse be gallente.
well cals main wepons are missils and rokets and such
so i think the drones for caldari should be rocket drones
that would be awsom and make more sence becaus it is caldari

Wouldn't it be cool if already laggy drones started firing laggy missiles? Definitely Awesome.

well i gess if you computer has problems with drones and rockets making it lag it would suck for you...

missiles and drones cause lag, its a known fact, go to any fight with more then 100 players.

Errrr... if you look closely, Caldari Drones use the railgun graphics... implying that they use railguns. And this works for them as Caldari drones have the greatest optimal range of all drone types (which, granted, isn't really a big deal except for Sentry Drones).

More than that... Caldari ship's weapons are split between missiles AND hybrids.

This is not to say it wouldn't be interesting... I just don't see the point in changing it.

Well, provided they tackle the whole lag problem first, I think it would be cool (if not high-priority) if Caldari drones actually fired missiles.

However, that brings up an interesting point: Drones don't use Ammo. The projectile and hybrid drones should use ammo, at least...

Pros:
If they can use ammo, they can switch ammo, making their damage types sort-of variable.

Cons:
They'll need to return to ship once their ammo is empty, decreasing their DPS
it'd also increase their cost over time (currently: 0 unless you lose them)

This would nerf doneboats to the point where they wouldn't be very effective at... well... anything. Or make them cost prohibitive/inefficient at the very least.
One of the few things droneboats have working for them is the fact that they don't HAVE to use any ammo and that drones can stick to the target until something dies (be it the droneboat, target, or the drone itself). What point would there be to bring out a ship whose sole weapon is destructible, has to fly in range (bar sentries), AND runs out of ammo (where it has to fly all the way back, resupply, then fly back out to the target)?

I would also like to add that every time CCP "tinkers" with drones something goes horribly, horribly wrong with their AI.

I wasn't saying it's a good idea - but the launching of missiles would be unexplainable without actually having missiles - for projectile/hybrid, at least one could argue that it's adapted to be some kind of energy based system.

Ooh ooh, so since drones are a Gallente trait, then the new Gallente drones would deploy drones of their own, and those drones would deploy their own drones, which would... it'd be drones all the way down!
