I applaud this vigorous discourse, it is the hallmark of vibrant academic freedom and symbol of the healthy democracy in both the Federation and Republic.

The FNP are the only great thing about having Roden in charge.

It means that they aren't.

This doesn't excuse more gossip journalism from Muck Raker mind, using the opinion of an idiotic minority to get another sensationalism story.

Lass, I didn't "tar" all of the politicians for one man's sake. You'll notice I quite clearly only "tarred" one and anyone similar to him.

I was actually making a general comment to all responders on this thread who are attacking Octirant like he's representative of the entire Federation, which is clearly absurd and fuels the old man's delusions of validity.

It would be fairly similar to say that all Caldari are fascists just because Tibus Heth is, for example, which is obviously silly.

Also, you can address me as Mademoiselle Severasse.

And the Federation ain't the land of freedom and promise it claims to be. It's the land of freedom, maybe. But so long as voices like his are heard, it ain't promising nothing but more frustration, opposition and anger.

This is also absurd. His voice rings out. Some listen. The same goes for any other voice, anywhere. That's what the Federation is. A caucus of ideas and the most powerful and persuasive win out.

'Sides, if I want freedom, I don't need your government telling me I can have it. Simple as that.

No-one told you anything. This is a thread about Education in the Republic and you chimed in to criticise the Federation. I'm merely pointing out that your critique is unfounded and reactionary.

I'll tell you how simple it is: Octirant is entitled to his say. He's wrong, and I'll tell him that, but he's entitled to express his opinion. Don't try and say that his opinion is representative of things that it is not; that is logically flawed.

Huh, suit your fancy then.

Only clarification I'll make is I ain't interested in criticizing the Federation, just certain individuals in it. I can see how you got that impression though, not much for political speech myself.

Keep your own voice loud and strong and perhaps there'll be hope for the rest. I'm thinking you might could use a drink and conversation, mada...whateverthatwordis Severasse. I'd be happy to oblige if you're willing.

I've always admired Gutter Press' source selection criteria. The underlying algorithms must be stunning: I'd wager not even blind chance would yield as consistent a combination of 'willing to talk' and 'stupid'.

Speaking as a Center for Advanced Studies graduate, I can certainly attest to the respect given Matari engineering by my instructors and peers. As a former Federation taxpayer, I confess being baffled by the cheekiness of any Minmatar academic who'd claim that their ... shall we call it a 'revolution', to avoid the debate between 'uprising' and 'rebellion'? Yes, I think any of them who'd state that the whole affair was self-funded could run the very real risk of being selected as a Gutter Press source.

Once again the Gutter Press demonstrates is pro galente/minmatar bias by leaving the erraneous statement that the so called 'republic' was not God given to the empire uncontested!

Lassie, you got two eyes, right? The post here ain't nothing to do with anything you're taking issue with, savvy? Reporting on Matari being upset by biased Federal education, be that factual reporting or not, ain't got nothing to do with your god and whether or not he gave it to the Empire.

Facts be plain: The Republic exists whether or not the Empire wants it to. This post weren't about you or your god, sorry if that don't sit well with your attention seeking, see? And the post hardly promotes bias for Gallente/Matari as it seems to be more about tension between the two.

Ancestors choke! I'd normally be offerin' you a drink to help you unwind, but I'm thinking it might stress me out in the process, not too shiny with that.

Mr. Triton, don't be so myopic. The Gallente Nationalist Party is an extremist group that recieves very little votes in the Federation. There's a sour grape in every harvest, but to deem the harvest lost simply because you got a taste of that nasty grape is foolish.

This, most certainly.

Always remember that it is almost always the extremist minority that is the most outspoken in any situation because it garners them the attention they need to stay afloat amidst the sea of logic.

Unfortunately the general populace from the Federation is very oblivious to the intricacies of the Minmatar people such as cultural differences and know very little about their society. Or should I have said that in plural? I read an article a few months ago stating that our youth were using tribal tattoos because they thought it would be something hip to do. That's a big no-no.

We Gallente are very self absorved people, I admit but we aren't bad folk generally. And even the less political aware Gallente can not downplay the importance and benefits of the friendship between our peoples. The Minmatar have as much to offer in a war effort as we can offer them these days. That's the beauty of a nation on the rise.

I apologize for my remark Mr. Galente. As you can see the worthless rhetoric of the Nationalist Party is a rather glaring stain on your government. I am glad to hear that such a party has little say in Federation policy, which goes a long way toward people like myself keeping faith in yours. I suppose my remark was made after too long a time in the Khanid Kingdom where rabble such as them are stifled, so as to prevent their influence from corrupting.

Let me remind all Minmatar academics that it is much more difficult to influence things from outside than from inside. If only there had been enough educators with Sebiestor background preparing the history curriculum, this confusing choice of wording could have been avoided.

In fact, the Gallente Federation offers great employment opportunities for the academically educated foreigners. A Matari professional can easily and effortlessly get a superior salary, benefits, career advancement, standard of living and and still remain highly competitive on the job market.

Especially doctors, pharmacists, scientists and engineers are seen as highly valuable immigrants. For many of them, seeking employment in the Gallente area has clearly and objectively been the best and only choice they could ever have made.

Thus, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind all Minmatar academics to seriously study their career options and keep in mind that Federation has much to offer for anyone who has the courage to accept the challenge.
