I am currently training the skills required for an Orca. This is MOSTLY just for industrial purposes (hauling mainly). But, since I also am a mission runner, why not get more out of it?

I will mostly be flying shield tanked Minmatar ships (Maelstrom and, eventually, Vargur). So, I know I will need the Siege Warfare skills. What other skills would be ideal? And, if its not too much trouble, would someone mind linking a fit specifically for Mission running boosting?

Thanks in advance!

As it has no bonus to non ORE related links, you'd be better off with a standard Tier 1 BC with 2 Command Procs in it for links.

A BC would be way easier to move with your mission running ship than moving the orca

Either way, the Orca is the end goal. Like I said, training for the Orca for the hauling part. Figured the boosts would be a bonus.

I could certainly use the BC for boosts until I get into the Orca, though. Would you still say BC if I already had the Orca?

The Orca is very handy for moving stuff and for mining ops

It can be handy for misison running too cause of the 3 running links.

A Cyclone or Ferox is so much cheaper though, and can warp around so much faster

This is the reason to use an Orca over a BC. To run 3 ganglinks in a BC you'd have to train the 20-30d for Warefare Links 5 or whatever it's called to use Command Processors. Also, the Orca will make it much easier to pack up and move bases if you need to.

As for fits, the basics would be agility lows, AB+IV field+EM hardner+whatever in mids, and then in the highs your choice of ganglinks. For boosting a Mael, I would use atleast two of the shield ganglinks (+resists, -duration, -cap usage) and maybe one other one such as Skirmish-Rapid Deployment (+AB/MDW speed) or Info-Sensor Integrity (+sensor strength, faster locking of NPCs).

Unless you plan on leaving your Orca pilot on an account where another character takes up the skill training time when your plan is complete then I would suggest using the Orca for mission boosting only as a stopgap measure (if that).
The T1 battlecruiser option will allow up to 6 warfare links (IIRC) through command processors and if you plan to create a full on leadership character out of the Orca pilot then you're going to want the bonuses from the requisite skill anyway.

As to which links to run...
If you ever have missions against Guristas then the sensor integrity link will leave you jammed marginally less - which means more uptime killing them. (it does not mean faster locktimes).
If you use a target painter to improve your tracking then there may be a little value in the Electronic superiority link, though that is more generally suited to Golems than Vargurs.
If you use a web to allow you to hit close stuff with guns then an Interdiction Manoeuvres link boosting web range could be valuable and of course the rapid deployment link could reduce your gate to gate times if you use an AB or MWD.
