I sadly had to work during the last several mass testing events. But it lead me to an awesome idea. What if you had a trimmed down client (no graphics, no interface) that would connect to eve's servers looking for commands to run, connect to some test server, and perform those commands. It would kinda be like a botnet, but more on the legal, opt-in side of things.

This would allow CCP to perform self-mass-testing, able to test all of the pathway from the client to the server.

You might be interested to read this DevBlog from CCP Atropos, which he wrote one year ago. It is about "thin-clients", which are basically what you are describing. They are awesome for some kind of testing - but they are not enough as they do only what we tell them. Players on the other hand might click the jump-button several times (when the ship is not jumping within 2 seconds) and they use a very broad range of ship fitting in mass-test. Players also have a very broad range of different hardware, which might show different problems.
