Hello Community!

I recently got my skills up to "sit" in Assault ships. I did some belt ratting in 0.0 with my retribution and some tackling in my crusader it works quite fine.

Now i looked at the missile brothers of those 2 ships and got a bit unsusre if they wouldnt fit the the roles i want to play better than the lazorboats.

For ceptor pvp i like tackling a and maybe some solo roams. Same goes for AS but the retribution lacks in mid slots a bit.

So if i want to rat-pvp in a AS in 0.0 whats would be the better choice? I hardly have any missile skills so i would have to train em up. Vengeance is better on solo roaming too i guesS?

What do you think about the 4 ships im talking about?

thanks for your help.

Fly reckless, Honoridium

For ratting it doesn't matter - fly what you like the most. Get as much dps as you can while being able to tank what you will be hunting.

For Tackling like you do it doesn't matter much about the ceptor - IMO use the one that has a range bonus to warp disruptors and scramblers.

ah ok and for pvp solo roaming in general would it be good to skill missiles just for that to get into a vengeance? with 1 mid slot at the retri i cant really do anything alone.

Solo-PvP'ing with just 1 medslot will likely be impossible for you unless you manage to trap enemy pilots into making a serious of mistakes. On a frigate very few people will have succes without propulsion and a scrambler/disruptor...

Rockets were recently buffed and should be pretty good, however in most situations I find guns to be stronger in PvP when you know how to use them.

me personally i like pulse laser more than everything the only problem is that the laser AS is really bad for solo pvp and even when looking at ceptors the missile version has better boni.

on the other hand missile skills would help my SB aswell and i could try a drake over my harbinger for pve. So many decissions ;o(

Do what you feel for - for small scale and solo work missiles are not bad. Test them out and see how they feel to fly - It's not like those ceptors are too costly.

My concern with ceptors and rockets though is the fast speed and low range on rockets often made me launch a few volleys out of range because the HUD/Overview didn't update fast enough while at the same time the target and I were moving very fast...

But ships like the Sacrilege is by far my favorite small scale (max a handfull involved ships) & solo ship. So now you had advice but you still really need to test the ships out for yourself before you know wether you like them or not.

The answer to your problem: fly a Slicer.

I haven't flown Amarr ships much, but here's a very good blog about solo PvP. For the last couple months the author has been flying a Vengeance almost exclusively. And for a bit in June he was flying a Malediction too. http://flight-of-dragons.blogspot.com/

Retribution for pve ratting and as a small gang damage dealer where you have other tacklers. The one mid slot dooms this ship in a solo role but its a great gang frig.

Vengeance is a nasty solo pvp frig or if you want to stick with guns as mentioned above fly a slicer with range rigs.
