I could be wrong but I can't imagine anyone being able to get refunded money for a service that they received. If he's paid for game time while being unable to log in to his account, maybe could get refunded for that but I don't think that's the case.

I'm still skeptical that he's telling the truth anyways.

Still and no matter what stands in the EULA, he invested time and money into something that they took away without reason. In germany there was an actual case when someones account was hacked and he lost some shiney boots when the police investigated.
The case was quickly resolved by the game company when they heared of it and the guy got his stuff back.

So i would not necessarly say that CCP can do what they want with the accounts. Also, you do some sort of contract with CCP when u accept to play. But they also do a contract with you that gurantees you your stuff as long as u dont break the rules. So if he is right, CCP broke that contract, which puts them into a bad position.

I doubt he will get refunded. But in my eyes he deserves a compensation for the contract breaking.

Found the link (german only i afraid):

You make a good argument. As far as the last part of your statement, we still don't know the whole story so maybe he broke his end of the deal first. Meh

OTOH, if he is being honest, I should hope CCP can figure it out and give him his accounts back.

Well i've been honest, you can check the character Christinia, my alt , and then my main anthie.

they both belong to me and always have, they share the same corp history / alliance , and has never been owned by anyone else, that character is groomed by me from day one, luckily i didn't loose everything since she was holding my alt corp and i moved the CEO over to a different character since she was to be sold, except now she is just "permanently" disabled , including all the assets on her worth god knows how much, freighter, jf, multiple bpo's etc , she was more or less my industrial king.

You know everytime I hear a story about character sales transactions that fail it puts a smile on my face. Sorry to be crude but frankly the more often this happens the better. That whole selling of characters is just a miserable fail in my opinion and should never have been allowed or supported by CCP. Aside from the fact thats its a huge scam factory that creates thousands of "bot" accounts, it devalues those players who legitimatly earn their characters advancement through commitment and gameplay.

Sorry you get no pitty from me and I hope this post remains bumped at the top for everyone to see what can happen when you try to buy your way into a character.

Your opinion, however, means ass. And I would rather fly with a guy trying to make a few honest extra bucks doing something he enjoys than a clown who has nothing better to do than to call somebody in an unfortunate situation a "miserable fail" just because they are not playing the game the way you think it should be played.

With that kind of name i would be thankful that they still let you create a new account.

The bans are permabans. Make new account to play EVE or start Lineage 2.

eh, mugshot

Reading is fundamental, try going over that one more time.

The EULA is a contract. You enter in to it of your own volition.

CCP does not guarentee service, in fact it explicitly promotes the right to arbitrarily deny service as part of the contract.

TBH you have no rights as you agreed to have no rights as part of the TOS.

They ofc also reserve the right to revise the EULA and TOS at any time.

Basically, CCP can do whatever they want with their property (your character). You are just paying them to rent the use of it/access the server. On their terms.

Assuming that one has photo-id. I've spent over half a century on this planet and I am pleased to have no such Orwellian receipts from The State.

No Passport? Never had to get a travel visa?

How do you contact CCP when things go wrong. This is now worrying me. What's the process? I've searched through and there are loads of topics like this. Reading these forums it seems this happens all the time.

This scares me because I play with two paid accounts - at my house - at work and at my brother's house. If my brother starts playing EvE - and I ever go around to his house to play - Am I looking at a Eula Violation Perma-Ban for perceived account sharing then?

And who do I phone when I do?
