With the upcoming Dust514, the way I understand it is they'll be able to kill ships above planets, and ships will be able to bomb them

my question is, Will the dust514 people have to spend a year and a half training skills just to do that well?

Eve has the longest skill training of any MMO, to the point that if you cut the skill training times in half, and gave back the spare points to keep older players happy(like with the learning skills), it'd still be the longest training time by a huge amount.

Having Dust players jump on play for a month and start popping ships would **** me and many I know off.

Im sure there has to be a vested interest with the interaction between the ground forces and the space forces. I doubt they can just supah-laza-beem anything floating around space.

You will probably have to right click the planet and enter the battlemode to bombard/attack things and places.

From what's been seen and showed off in Dust514, I can see a plausible scenario of mercs being supplied with ground based defenses that could attack ships in space with very little requirements for using them, apart from some ability to lead a target and gut instinct that the ship won't turn. But I don't think that a ground based defense would be able to knock out any large sized or properly equipped ship with any amount of ease unless there were perhaps a few dozen manually controlled ones or a few hundred smaller, automated ones.

Makes me wonder if they'll include an orbital canon as a construct in an update.

they probably have to take a planetary objective to attack ships in space, that said, i doubt they can 1 hit a cap ship like they showed in the trailer.

the movies never lie...lol

I always liked butterfly effect trailer. Yep, hulks last that long against a 0.0 gank. And a few gankers can't kill a wolf..in a belt where dancing in fall off will have it catching the wtf collision mesh on the rocks. And said wolf is non blue and jsut floating around. Then the corps says come on in. No api check, no chat to see if you can pass the basic spy test.

Eve trailers stillnice watches...jsut drink some cool aid while watching them and its all good.

dominion is my favorite trailer, too bad eve is nothing like that, i mean in the middile of a fleet fight a 3rd, more power force never jumps in undetected and wtfpwns them.
