It's worth noting that performance-wise it gets roflstomped by a Machariel and more or less beats out any Loki configuration I can put together with similarly-priced mods.

There's nothing inherently wrong with going with an approach more like this:

I prefer the higher insane burst tank/speed tank, but the more sustained tank/MWD for range control/damage application purposes makes perfect sense as well.

I've never seen an incursion build for a Sleip. For a Loki you're probably going to want a brick tanked webber.

From what I've been reading it looks like the Sleipnir and Mach seem to be the only "good" ships for missions/Incurs.

Would you really recommend taking the tracking enhancers?

Taking range from 1.5+19 to 1.9+30 is pretty huge. Damage projection is going to be your major Achilles heel on any medium AC build and TEs are the best way to mitigate it.

The extra tracking is also nice but not nearly as important.

Incursion Sleipnir, tried and tested when incursions were still young, logi's not so experienced, and no guides written for the sites. Now that most logi's are used to flying with squishy vindi's/nightmares etc. and guides for the sites have been written, this sleipnir is outright tanky for vanguards.

For drones, I generally stuck in either mining drones or shield maintenance bots, as damage drones tend to die quickly, but if you decide for damage drones I would just go with either hobgoblin II's or warrior II's. The only required pimp items are the fed navy webbers, as standard meta 4 or t2 webbers 10km range is incredibly insufficient. Also, they are very affordable for an average incursion runner - 6 sites will get you one, which is an hour of sites in a slow fleet, 40 minutes in a fast one. Further pimpage is optional, but recommended. Also, I recommend the burst areator over the collision accelerator, because additional damage per volley is improved by faction damage mods, but ROF isn't.

As for ammo, you should never have to use anything other than shortrange damage (some people feel that EMP does more damage, but I haven't noticed any difference), occasionally barrage in NMC's if you don't feel like moving much, and occasionally hail in OTA's. If you are feeling rich, you can use faction ammo, but be advised this setup really burns through ammo.

Loki is awful, use it in pvp. You need at least 3 webs do it alright... (battleship pilots should bring their own webs, and if they dont, well they are generally disorganised n00bs, and as because of this, a lot of these will be in the slowwwwwWW fleets... "count to 900, logi in on 49, scimis orbit the battleships in numerical order, basi orbit in alphabetical order backwards"... all of this stuff ull generally wanna avoid, just a bit of advise.

sleipnir on the other hand is pretty okay
