It has been brought up many times before. LP Store prices are really messed up. Many have asked CCP to change the requirements but to no prevail.
What they really should do is make the prices fluid. Meaning if a item is hardly ever purchased or even never purchased, the requirements will go down a small percentage each day (1-3%). Then items that are almost never bought will soon become very cheap and will actually be worth buying.
But then you may say, "Well then eventually all items will become dirt cheap and make missioners even more iskies". Here's the solution: If a item is used a lot every day, the price will rise every day (1-3% again). Simple.
This'll make missioners have to do research constantly, fix certain LP stores and since the LP prices in pirate corporations will drop and become more valuable, it'll bring more people down into null to seek greater rewards, thus balancing out risk vs. reward a little more
