Just curious - in a gang in WH space, are defender missiles still pointless? I can usually hold ok with a spider tank group, but boy do those dang cruise missiles hurt..

Any word yet if CCP is going to allow defender missiles to be more useful or maybe, just maybe shoot down missiles aimed at a friendly gang member? Be nice to get in a drake loaded with a couple of rocket launchers to defend a gang from those pesky cruises.

afaik no plans for them yet.
The really shouldve made it high slot active module, call it point defence system or whatever, with 50 km range missiles only or mebbe 3 km range all targets. Just some random ideas, which pop in my mind when i see the rubbish current defenders are.

it's sad to think that defenders had great potential.. you are sacrificing damage for defense - and for large ships, defense from large missiles is needed. BS's and BC's are having to result to tanking instead of counter-measuring big missiles.

Disappointing me to see another item in EVE to go unnoticed and untouched from the very beginning.

I have used a scorp with all defenders in the highs in the past to mitigate incoming damage, worked well but needed a bit of hands on to use it so made it of limited use to me running multiple accounts...
