So, yesterday I started cleaning up to prepare for a full reinstall of windows. While going through documents for various game save files etc, I decided the eve directory would be nice to have as well. So I just dragged the whole directory over to the backup location. Turns out, there were ~50k log files in there, ~40k of which were game logs. So, I deleted them. Here's the catch:

I run my eve in windowed mode, and regularly tab out and leave the window up behind my other windows. Since I started playing eve, I've noticed that periods of 3-4 months+ without a windows reinstall (wiping C: completely) makes eve clog up the system while behind other windows, making everything lag. This time it's been 1.5 years since my last reinstall, where I've played eve for a large part of that period. Tabbing out to do other things has been a nightmare lately.
However, after deleting the cluster**** of logs this problem is completely gone. Worth looking into perhaps?

Yeah, that's good and all.. but it shouldn't really be neccessary for the end user to seek out a solution to this kind of thing. If it's happening to me, it's bound to be happening to others as well. When a program essentially slows itself down by being used something is seriously wrong.

For example, if the logs were compressed or something along those lines after a certain amount of time to limit the amount of files that'd probably help a bit?
