It takes a little extra effort, but I use a transfer can to get things out of the Orca for non-corp members. If I am going to use the transfer can for transferring ore to a hauler, I put a pin in it, and keep it empty when the hauler is away.
I have also been able to reduce the error messages that people from other corps get when putting things into the Orca's hangers by using the Orca's Configure Ship option and setting it to allow fleet to use ship maintenance bay.
Just commenting to clarify for the very new that what Beki means by "a pin" is a Book Mark - where the image on the counter for bookmarks is that of a push pin.
These counters can be created by dragging and dropping bookmarks from your People and Places function into your ships Cargo Bay or Items Hangar in station. You can also drag and drop them from these locations into People and Places to add the bookmark to your People and Places listing of Places. Holding down the shift key as you drag the bookmark from your people and places will create a copy, rather than moving the bookmark.
Jet Can's are created by right clicking on an object in your cargo bay and selecting Jettison. Bookmarks are often used to keep Jet Can's open so that items - such as ore - can be transferred back and forth between ships in space. Bookmarks are popular for this purpose since they a) take up no space; b) have no intrinsic value; c) can be created at any time or place by clicking on the Create Bookmark button at the bottom of the Places tab. Since most ships lack the Orca's facilities - this is the ONLY way they can make such transfers. Sometimes - the item being transferred is in fact the bookmark itself. Say someone scouts out a Worm Hole - and wants to give the location to someone else they can hold down the shift key and drag a copy of the bookmark they created for that Worm Hole into their cargo hold, then place it in a jet can for the other person to pick up (or they can trade them in station).
