a low sec mining ship needs yield like a retriever but it would need a big cargohold while still being fast to get out (covert cloak is also a possible idea)

So something like a skiff, maybe with the mining bonus adjusted to:
+20% Strip miner yield per exhumer level
+30% Mercoxit crystal mining yield per exhumer level

Let the greater range of the MDCSM-II be used to deal with the explosion risk.

The Skiff has a highly optimized strip miner control subsystem that is able to give amazing performance. Unfortunately it is only able to support a single strip miner due to interference that happens when the optimizations are applied to more strip miners.

ORE keeps the wreckage of a Mackinaw that was fit with this optimization in a small glass case by the entrance to their engineering department to remind their engineers that the computer simulations can't always be trusted.

Maybe we, miners, can have a low sec (lice carriers, rorqual and other capital ships) minig barge? It may be Capital Ship and have new "capital mining lasers".

Like Rorqual - but only for mining?

  1. 6, or more, mining lasers

  2. large ore bay - skill based capacity

  3. increase mining lasers range - skill based %

  4. mining lasers bonuses, like MLU - skill based %

  5. built-in resource scaner with skill based range

  6. bonuses for ore mining drones


This list is only my POV, maybe 0.0 miners have same needs...



we don't need any of this. what might be useful for low sec is a slightly improved tank.. and maybe one extra non-turret high slot for a tractor, repper (spidertank), salvager or what not.

For low sec mining to work our mining vessels need to be faster to align and get safe. There may not be room for a cloak but it needs to be able to turn on a dime and get moving quick. Scouting will handle the rest. To have any chance then the mining site can't be in a normal belt. To be profitable then high sec mining profits need to be seriously slashed.


  • Improve survivability of mining barges through alignment time.

  • No tank will survive an attack. You have to be able to run.

  • Seriously reduce profitability of high sec mining or make some minerals only spawn in low sec in any real quantities.

  • Move all serious mining to exploration, which can't be overstated.

  • Add a high utility slot for a Gravimetric Probe Launcher.



Pirates can still pre-scout gravimetric sites and there will need to be a lot more risk management by the mining companies. Mining becomes more active and interesting without resorting to mini-games or other gimmicks to keep the miners awake.

Give me a reason to undock my barge.

Maybe there can be capital ship type w/o ability to go in hi-sec... Only for low-sec & 0.0... I don`t make economic to collapse... But have some new ships, for some changes... It will be great!
So... I`m put with this proposal.
