I've done material research on a Corporate Hangar Array and wastage got reduced from 10% down to 1.11%. The bill of materials on other BPOs always shows a reduction but in this one case, it did not. Is this intended since it's a POS structure or is it a bug?

For example, it requires 100,000 Tritanium originally, but this did not get reduced afterward.

NOTE: I did submit a bug report already just in case.

Some bpos have what is called "extra materials" and those cannot be reduced by research. This was mentioned in the last QEN with respect to nanite repair paste.

"In all, 908 players
did almost 1.3 million research runs on the blueprints. Every single run was wasted. When starting
a manufacturing job, the window with the quoted cost and list of materials shows all three ingredients
in Nanite Repair Paste under the heading of Extra Material. Material efficiency has no effect on such extra materials."

It shows when you set up a job that the hangar array BPO is the same way, the trit is an "extra material", and hence cannot be reduced via research.

CCP: maybe add this info to the BPO bill of materials?

Thank you, Vincent! This is really helpful info that's easily missed.

If CCP can make this clearer, it may help free up cue times as well since people will not be needlessly filling cues with items that do not gain any benefit from research.

^ This.

Except for the "maybe" part. CCP, this needs to be added to BPO info.
