Actually zigzags do makes sense when you or going against a ships with guns as tracking speeds come into play.
Granted the farther away you are the less point to zig zag.
Especially if they have blasters then they are just plane out of range.
Now for missiles it really doesn't matter you can just sit still for all it matters.
As the only thing that matters there is the explosion velocity and the size of the ship.
Now if you can out run the explosion velocity then the game changes.
Interestingly I don't think CCP put in the rest of the formula in there calculations.
ie your speed effects how much damage you take.
ie if you are approaching and hit the missile head on it would be your speed + the explosion velocity which could get really ugly in a interceptor.
But It don't think those mechanics are in the game but I don't fly caldari and haven't payed that much attention.
