Hi I was wondering if it is possible and how, to run two sepperate clients and accounts of eve from the same computer onto two seperate monitors? I tried running them in windowed mode but my monitors are different size and it keeps saving the settings and screwing everything up, also, i get about 15-20fps instead of my usual 130-140fps when running fullscreen single client... so windowed mode is out of the question.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Edit: tips for windowed, but still tips... Laughing

I use an app named Sizer to set the window size on my separate and windowed clients, it can sit in the systray on Windows and you get fully customizable resolutions, etc. Sizer does not move the clients to the correct screen automatically but I'm sure there are other window managers that can do that as well if needed, I just throw my EVE clients around manually or by hitting the 'special' buttons sitting to the left of the min/max/close buttons on every window. Check the screenshot below. That particular app in turn is named UltraMon and offers a ton of other functions as well, such as the ability to extended the systray onto the secondary screens, etc.

Full screenshot spanning 2 x screens with the EVE client set to the custom res "NEC H Full 1900x1030 Float" from the custom popup in systray. (L screen native 1920x1080, R screen native 1680x1050).

The Sizer is a minimalistic app makes stuff simpler and gives you a bit of control if you fiddle a lot with swivel screens, resolutions and various window sizes basicly. Hope this helps out.

thanks for your help, main problem i guess is windowed mode is too much load on my comp running two clients... someone explained it to me and yeh it sounds like it has to be in windowed mode, i guess ill have to buy a laptop or something.

The easy solution to save a seperate config file per account is to simply copy the Eve Folder and name it something simple like Eve2.

Then just add a shortcut to your desktop/taskbar etc and you can run both clients with seperate settings.

As for drop in framerate.. It would be handy to know your graphics card.
I am running a GTX580 and 2 monitors, one at 1920x1080 and one at some widescreen resolution (Dont remember from here) and am able to run 4 clients at once. 3 on my widescreen and one maxxed out on my main monitor.

You have to remember that if you run 2 clients in window, you tax the graphics card more as not only is it having to draw the client but it is having to draw your desktop instea dof having it in memory.

What I done is my main account on my 1080 screen is on maxxed settings in window mode. all the othe rclients are on high/med settings in window mode to reduce strain on graphics. and I have no issues staying above 60FPS on all 4 clients at once.

Your main restricting factor is the graphics card obviously so let us know what you actually have and we can advise you better.

i used to get insane FPS drop when using multiple monitors... turned out the issue was the eve client was running at a different refresh than the monitor.

I run two clients from two folders on 2 screens. This way you can set each one to open "fullsize" on it's own screen without using a 3rd party app.

Only note is that when you do a big update/patch - don't clear the data until after the 2nd one is finished.
