Its still a pretty spot on representation of eves skill progression though.

Plus the webcam footage is bloody brilliant. Laughing

Have to say the game is pretty fun for quick and dirty pvp especially if you are in a good clan.

My T30 is like the titan of wot with its god cannon. Twisted Evil

Actually yes.

The vid was about being effective in pvp so I will detail it out from only the pvp angle.

1 month: You are just starting to get your support skills to a decent level and can use mwd.

Hence the thruster upgrade. Still worthless for serious pvp past a cannon fodder scout or throwaway point.

3 months: You have a solid level 4 base of support skills and are now working towards your first t2 frigates.

Hence the cosmetic upgrade to your ship. Still mostly worthless for pvp but small gangs can always use a decent tackle and t1 cruisers can be fun if ultimately pointless.

6 months: You now should have mostly level 5 support skills and either a frontline t2 ship or well skilled t1 battlecruiser/battleship with t2 fit.

Now you are ready for most of the serious pew pew action that happens in organized corps and alliances.

Seems pretty spot on to me.
