First off there are three characters in the story.

The Colonials - Players
The Battlestar Galactica - EVE
The Cylons - CCP

The Colonials trusted the BSG with all of their social and entertainment needs, everything was fine until the Cylons. The Cylons modified BSG and caused great chaos within the Colonial community. The Colonials only survived by shutting down the modified parts of BSG to avoid complete failure of BSG but some functionality was lost. BSG once a comfortable home has now become a threat to their social lives. The Colonials blame the Cylons.

This is pretty much the best way I know to sum up the complaints.

Once upon a time there was a little pig called Arnold. He used to fly in a large cooking pot.
One day, he flexed his warp coil diffuser and flooded the cooking pot with a back flow of tachyons. Locked in a time paradox, Arnold morphed between piglet, swine and pork chop dressed with apple sauce for the rest of eternity.

My story makes more sense than yours Tom.

I've always likened the current state of the game and relations between CCP and the player base to that of customers at a restaurant.

Several customers visit the restaurant everyday for several years, always ordering the same thing, lets say it starts as 'steak and chips/fries'. The Chef sometimes surprises the customers for their loyalty by putting a little something extra on the plate, a little sauce here, a little herbs and seasoning there, customers are generally happy with this, although the steak is never really cooked enough.

All of a sudden though, the Chef starts throwing on whole fish, heads an all, uncooked. The customers put the first few dishes like this down as 'one offs', but soon the Chef is taking the biscuit and throwing on things that aren't even really for eating, like broken harmonica's and handcuffs with bits of pink fluff on, soon customers are leaving in droves or complaining very loudly asking why he can't just cook the steak properly rather than adding all the junk, but the Chef can't see what all the fuss is about and continues piling stuff on without thinking or listening.

I'm hungry. Very Happy

Lady Spank is an angel? CSM are happy to reject technology en masse, with no argument? Who is CCP Daniel?

It just makes no sense, Tom!

I figured the Cylons used the Battlestar's onboard computer network to infect and spread the MT virus which was forcing colonails to hand over their genitals....er...wallets. So they cut the cord and now none of the systems are networked, which is why I can hit battleships 270km away yet my guns wont shut off because said battleships have been dead for over 20 minutes and I can't seem to stop my ship turn around or warp anywhere. See, all sensor, targeting, navigation etc is now handled by humans phyisically writing down the information they see on screen and then walking it over to the CIC. Then waiting for CIC orders before returning to their post on the other end of the ship to input the Commanders orders.

Meanwhile the Cylons decided chasing Colonials was boring and went off to a distant galaxy to be one with their one true God and have little mechbabies.
