Member management tool?

I am looking for something ot help manage and keep track of members.
In terms of knowing what skills they have, where they are, security check on wallet transactions and maybe more...

A webbased tool where members sign up themself when joining the corp.
And are (via api) purged when leaving corp.

Is there anything like this?
Or can someone built one for me?

Sure I can build one for you, do you have either 15B or a willingness to do this on a third party server?

(no, this is not a joke)

Basically, what your asking for is my site: https://eveverify.com/ with some small changes, such as keeping the api keys active and up to date. I could make the changes to do all you ask in about a week, but I would have to host it, I am not going to release the code.

dont worry, i trust you arent joking.

but yeh, i dont want to spend 15bil on it even if i have the isk.
and no i dont want to use a third party server.
and that is basically because first it is the security issue, i dont know who would look at the info being put up.

but also if i a tool like this was to be used... it needs upgrading when eve tamper with the api etc.

wouldent an idea be to build something like PHPBB forum... a package to download for free or to buy or rent... so the creator keeps it up to date and earn from hes creation. but allows ppl use it on there own sites.

buy the package, would be expensive... like 15bil (including free upgrades)??
free, maybe not an option :p
rent... monthly fee... tho how to controle it if ppl can use it on there own servers? is it possible to make it communicate another server so the owner can disable an account/user if he isent paying.

im just speculating. i dont know how these stuff work.

TBH, I think 15bil is cheap.

Biggest issue from the coder's view is once its released, its almost impossible to control. You could turn around and give it to someone else.

There are ways to basically scramble the code, but the good ones are expensive and the cheap ones don't work very well. Most of them require something to be installed on the webserver, which isn't an option for everyone to do because they don't have the access and their host wont do it. Plus, supporting all the various way webservers can be confiured and are configured is a nightmare that I do not want to go through again.

So unless you change your mind on the hosted website or come up with 15+bil isk and are willing to wait 3-6 months for someone to make it for you, your out of luck.

If you do change your mind on letting someone else host, let me know, I probably could have most of what your asking for done in a day with the rest soon after.

Obviously, I already have something like this lying around (for my own corporation). It just won't be sold for anything less than 15B :P

Tbh, I'm not that concerned about someone walking off with the code, my contract explicitly states it is forbidden, and transactions of this kind of stuff can only take place via RL communication anyway (or rather, that's the only way I'll do it), even if the payment is in virtual currency.

And you have the time and RL money to go to the far side of the planet should they choose to ignore your 'contract' and sue them right? Of course that assumes the 'contract' is enforcible in the country they live in too which isn't a given.

Things like this is one of the minor reasons I didn't even think about trying to do my Eve projects closed source. The main reason I didn't is I wanted to offer something back to the players in Eve that help make it a interesting game which I've stayed with longer than any other.

That is more likely to happen with a hosted application where someone is making income of some type because if they don't keep it updated people would stop paying for it IMHO anyway. They also only have to update it once and everyone is always running the most current stable version which has it's benefits too.

Understandable concern and one you'll have to decide for yourself. For what it's worth personally I trust Johnathan but I've known him in Eve and as a developer for several years now. I've been in many private convos with him and we help each other with coding from time to time and even have a couple projects in common but I can say in that time he has never share anyone else's data from his projects with me nor have I with him because we both understand the trust others have put in us and wouldn't think of betray that trust even if we personal trust each other and know the other would never use it for anything beyond testing their own software.

I was thinking of implementing something similar on my site for a rental fee for corporations. TBH was more thinking about what corp tools i could create to go alongside a corp website, TS3 server and a few other nifty things.

I started my website not too long ago, but slowly have implemented eve-api, eve central data, eve-market data and a few other cool things which I am yet to release.

If you are interested in using a rental server for corporation (well more like rental tool) with full management (I will update things when static data dump changes or eve API changes) we can discuss terms and of course required design.

Or if you want any other details let me know.

Of course I have the means to enforce it... Not. But that isn't a point most of the time. Even if I do not trust characters in EVE very far, I do trust the veracity of most EVE players in RL, and I trust them to be fair (depending on whom you work with of course, but still).

But upgrade and install problems plus a reluctance to give much support lead me to simply build a website that is hosted and let people use that for free. I have fun, they have useful features, and we're both happy :)

totaly understand why you guys dont want to do the work the way id like to see it :)

im just a user that enjoy the open source projects out there like phpbb and all mods for them.
ive been messing around with my website for about a year and have learned quite a bit from just using the stuff out there.

tho i have limits in what im willing to learn and what time i will spend on things (as everyone).
so now i ended up at a cross road where i need to decide if i want to expand my service to corp members with a more advance tool to manage and help them and me or if i just should be happy with that i myself can setup alone.

trust is a major part in eve
i cant ask my members to give me there full or limited API without ensuring them myself that it is safe. it is not about me not trusting the service i would buy from...

so for the moment i need to rethink the future and see what i settle on.
i just know that any tool i do get must be something i can say "this is mandatory for all to use and you can trust that the info you put in will be safe"

Check out ECM

http://wiki.eve-id.net/ECM

It's not a simple PHP app that you can just slap on a server and it works. It runs on python and will require a bit more tweaking than most other things, but it may just be what you are looking for. =)

You can use EveOrg APIPoller to keep a local SQL database (free SQL Express works fine) up to date with almost all API available data for any keys in the database.

You enter the keys (or build a website for your corpies to use that gets the keys into the database) and the poller just gets all the API data and keeps it up to date. Whenever you feel like checking your corpies transactions, skills, location, balance, whatever, just query the DB.

It's perfect as a backend to a website.

Also has a built in proxy so you can run other API data apps through it.

Some data builds up historically, like transactions, market orders, industry jobs, etc so you can mine data over time.

It's free beta at the moment, there may be a nominal fee to use it once it comes out of beta but tbh I'm getting so much in donations I may just make it free forever.
