I have been suffering client corruption problems when installing to my laptop.
I have downloaded on-line and off-line clients.
I have used the repair tool on all of them. both updated repair and the original one.
I have even copied a eve folder from my pc and memory sticked it to my laptop.

I know the pc client works as I use it daily. And interestingly if i use the original repair tool before updating it on the copied client eve will work. but when i come to restart my computer and try using the client again i get the corruption on start up again.

I have re-downloaded the client twice. everything. I am at witt's end. my laptop is running xp sp2 and has ran the previous client to incarna fine.

HELP

Install Service Pack 3 for Windows XP, and make sure you install all your updates. Make sure you have directX installed, and your graphics drivers. Also make sure your laptop is good enough to run EVE.

You can download Service Pack 3 from here:

I will try this however i do not have much hope. i think it's something to do with the client. I have deleted with unistall and removed the folder from documents containing logs ect. are there any other trace folders eve leaves i should make go away?

not that I know of. You should be good if you deleted everything. Try installing it directly from the website. That should work.

Make sure you have proper security settings on your EVE folder. Easiest thing to do is right click the folder, select properties, go to the security tab, click "add", type "everyone", click OK, find "everyone" in the list at the bottom part of the window and check off "full control".

If you don't have the option of changing the security permissions, click the advanced button and deselect "inherit from parent" (or whatever it says), when prompted, select "copy" not "remove" in the dialog asking what you want to do with the inherited permissions, then do the above mentioned stuff.

That may fix it for you.
