A great way to improve immersion in a game is to improve the ambiance. Eve already has a large number of music in its jukebox but lets be honest it really does not cut it. I think it would be interesting to have some faster and slower tempo music but all of which has no lyrical content and adds to 'flow.' Lets create a thread where people can suggest great atmospheric music to listen in the back ground to suit the pace of floating in EVE. My first contribution is: Treefingures – Radiohead – kid A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKF-gVlt1hsThis song gives me the feeling of floating in WH space being completely cut off from the rest of the universe. |

I prefer Lawrence Welk, toned down a bit.

Independance War 2 OST is pretty good. It has a good "space" feeling to it.

I would certainly not agree that the Eve soundtrack just doesn't cut it (I love it), but I would agree that it could use twice as much awesomeness. |

Speak for yourself sonny, the ambient music in EVE is classy, retro electronica, reminiscent of such classics as Tangerine Dream, etc. It's the "action" music in EVE that's fairly ****. For extra ambient goodness I used to listen to Cryosleep and Blue Mars internet radio (zero beat electronica, vast, spacious and ultra-slow, perfectly suitable for an immortal pod pilot who has drifted far from humanity), but they seem to be down these days. |

Oh yeah! The Freelancer ambient music is ridiculously great, especially in context, the first time you play the game. |

My current EVE Soundtrack is the entire Desiderii Marginis discography. It fits the game unbelievably well. |

I play EVE online with the Perpetuum Online Soundtrack in the background. Unlike EVE, this music won't put you to sleep and has a variety of tempo Ambiance electronica. The best part is that you can acquire the Soundtrack for FREE in their website. Perpetuum SoundtrackEnjoy |

Max Corbacho's music, I find, is perfect for EVE Online. His work was also featured in another MMO you may have heard of before: Neocron. |

Wow! This is outstanding. It would be great if we could get a new soundtrack for EVE in this style. |

Its been a bit since I've DJ'd seriously, but I did use to do a bit of downtempo and ambient music spinning along side psytrance... and still do, if the opportunity pops up. As for EVEambient stuff, I have a few mixes that are along this vein if any of you are interested. Dreamscape 02Dreamscape 01192kb mp3's and each around 2 hours long. Enjoy. |

Confirming Alienhand is awesome. My list typically is full of post-rock, like God is an Astronaut, Jónsi/Sigur Rós, Mike Oldfield, and lately a friend has been getting me into Ólafur Arnalds. |
