^Is it worth it/a good idea? The 2 major ops I would be doing is PI (for some of the fuel) and running combat sites in a C2 with a C1/C2 static. For the cost of the fuel I cant get out of planets would run 80mil/week for a large pos.

Solo? No. Not a good idea at all, especially in a C2. A C2 with High/C1 statics or even C2/Low statics (are there any C2/C1? Haven't seen one...) are in high demand... a one person corp in there will not keep anyone from simply moving in and taking over.

Imagine this... you log in and find an active corp has set up a pos in your hole. They've checked the planets and know which ones to camp for your arrival. Intent: pod you to high sec, flip the holes, let the POS die and take your stuff.

You lose.

What about living in a C1 solo?

Similar rules apply... the only thing is you won't have BBs in there attacking you. If you're in there alone and someone wants your hole, you'll lose it, period. Again, all they need to do is set up shop and you're powerless to stop them (save for fallbacks, like hiring mercenaries or so).

Best bet - join an alliance that has established holes. They'll often have people in holes willing to allow someone to set up another pos and share in the resources and defense of the hole.

It's very doable, if you're willing to put forth the effort. I spent a couple months living in a C1 with a lowsec static before I got bored of all the logistics of PI and fuel hauling solo. It's very doable and quite profitable, but the logistics of any WH solo are a pain.

Can crap happen? Sure

Is it likely to happen? Not Really

Sure if you have a perfect C2 with tons of really sweet planets, you might draw a crowd of people looking to take your system.

If you have a decent sized corp (even if they are all not in the wormhole with you) and you setup a decent sized POS and defend it well, then you will probably not have much trouble.

Keep you home hole pretty well bottomed out and you decrease the "desirability" factor also.

In the end though, anything you take into w-space should be considered lost, as there is a pretty decent chance that at some point it will be.

Honestly I dont even consider c1 and c2s as valuable space. I hate finding wormholes to them when Im looking for isk. For a fight oh god youre in trouble then. Even if I have only a 3 man gang and I find an active c1,2,3 or even a poorly fit c4 I will drop the battle posses. I took a c3 pulsar from two corps who had been going at each other for a few months by simple starving them. I jumped into all the sites despawned everything, ragecaged wormholes... Why? Did I really want that wormhole? Hell no. Ive already moved out. I wanted to ruin their income. If you look like fun to someone, you will get invaded. Thats all there is. If you want to keep your hole, leave scanning alts in there, ****STAR poses, mad ecm. Have pos gunning skills and be ready to use them. if youre in a system with a small number of moons and are making a lot of isk there, drop a bunch of smalls, blank out the hole. Dont probe out your static unless you need an exit, kill inbound holes or at least bubble them.

If you know what you are doing, you are safe as houses.
A c1 or c2 can be very valuble space, It is worth it for the PI, sites and if you are that way inclined you can set up a t3 or t2 manufacturing POS that no battleships will be able to attack, unless they are built in there.
