Ichoriya V - Caldari Navy Logistic Support
Region: Black Rise
Constellation: Aokinen

Lai Dai Infinity Systems congratulates State Protectorate forces for their ongoing successes in the Placid theatre of war.

To express our recognition of the hard work done by State forces to achieve Lai Dai strategic goals in the Placid region as well as keeping Black Rise safe, Lai Dai Infinity Systems donated 16 advanced frigates to the Caldari Colonial Defense Ministry and Progressive State corporations. The pilots of these corporations conducted a nearly two month long campaign that recently captured the Esesier system, a system of interest to the Lai Dai Corporation following the development rights auction.

The Kitsune-class, Manticore-class, Hawk-class and Raptor-class frigates were all designed by the Lai Dai Corporation and researched & manufactured by Lai Dai Infinity Systems utilizing materials and facilities in Black Rise.

Similar ships and other Caldari advanced hulls and modules can be found for sale at very competitive prices in the STPRO frequented Ichoriya and Enaluri systems.

Once again, Progressive State would like to express its gratitude to Lai Dai Infinity Systems. There were many others who assisted us in the capture of Esesier and we extend our thanks to them also.

I hope that in the near future we can open up more industrial opportunities for LDIS and we will do our best to support them in any way possible.

I personally would like to congratulate the Progressive State, they are trully a worthy representative of the State, they fight those who the mandate decree's.
Even tough I am not personally happy about a extension of the fighting, I find with such a honorable Corporation fighting on the front I can rest easy those that those who are not part of the war where not affected.

May the progressive State continue to hold true to their mandate as they have.

I am glad to see that there are corporations out there who acknowledge our neutrality towards non-militia units. Far too many pilots are quick to dismiss an entire navy based the actions of a few.

The State Protectorate's goals can be achieved without unnecessary acts of hostility, without the upheaval of native colonies and without disruption to local industrial operations. I think it is safe to say that Progressive State has proven this.

Currently, you have aligned yourself with Brigadier General Damar Rocarion, who you willingly follow. I'm sure we can both agree that if it was not for his leadership, Esesier and Harroule would not have fallen. You will also be aware that you have aligned yourself with STPRO unit, Hell's Revenge, who are currently engaging in hostilities with the non-militia Intaki Prosperity Initiative. Remember, by remaining apathetic during times of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.

From a Caldari perspective, you know what the beautiful thing about the blind auction is? You don't have to worry about the native population. For hundreds of years, settlements have existed in Placid that have been mostly agrarian, minimal to no corporate presence. Mostly local businesses and farmers that support themselves. Suddenly, your profit-hungry corporations force themselves onto a society that has known no such authority before, and takes whatever output they had for themselves. That's social upheaval if there ever was one.

Don't give me nonsense about you "caring" for the local populace. The State is not a populist entity; you think the average Caldari citizen-employee will care about what happens to some Intaki on an occupied Placid world? Remember; all for the good of many, right? They will be expected to slave away for the profiteering of your megacorporations.

I'd like to take credit for Esesier but that would be wrong. However, based on your and your allies comments I am: Raving psycho; not fit to lead toilet cleaning gang; coward who only flies frigates with cloaking devices and never fights.

So if you give credit to such leadership for taking an entire solar system, you do realise you put yourself into somewhat bad (but nonetheless accurate) light...

This 'injustice' you speak of is a personal war between the ILF and another corporation. The fact that this other corporation is a State Protectorate militia unit is incidental and irrelevant to the goals of Progressive State.
Apathy has nothing to do with it, it is simply not a State military matter. Civil and personal conflicts erupt throughout the Empires on a daily basis, the vast majority of them have absolutely no bearing on the goals of Progressive State, the State Protectorate or the State itself.
If the ILF decides we have 'chosen the side of the opressor' Im sure they will notify us in the form of a war declaration. If or when that time arises then we will deal with it accordingly. Until then our neutrality remains.
Progressive State has only ever 'aligned' itself with the State Protectorate. We will always do our best to support the conflict with the Federation but that is all. We are soldiers and follow strict rules of engagement. All other conflicts are none of our concern, unless the parties involved wish to make it so.

I suspect the only reason the Federation has something to say about this is to attempt to gain more allies in a conflict which they seem to be slowly losing a grip over.

Is there any evidence yet of any detrimental effect on the indsutrial and social populations in Esesier or Harroule?. Quite the opposite in fact. Our presence in these systems attracts attention from industrial operations who seek to open up new opportunities and essentially contribute the growth of the local economy. Lai Dai Infinity Systems has already proved this, but you must already realise that since that was the whole point of this public statement on their behalf?

These "industrial opportunities" you speak of benefit only the Caldari, at the expense of the local population. I advise you take a look at the events within the Federation during the year 111.

After all, invading foreign systems, or otherwise exerting influence over an area and claiming it provides "opportunities" for the local people is a remarkably Gallentean way of looking at things.

Inhonores, I have heard you make this claim repeatedly, but I have yet to see you provide proof that no former Federation citizen has benefited from the Caldari occupation. In fact what little anecdotal evidence I have heard is that Caldari influence has been positive for the local population in some cases. You may point out that this is because the Caldari State propaganda machine is at work, and there is likely some truth to that, but there is also most likely some truth to the underlying stories as well and that in fact at least some of the original population has benefitted. Or is it only the economic and political elite who live lives of indolent leisure through the work of others and are now forced to justify their place that count to you?

This is also strange to me, as I have now heard you accusing several Caldari including myself of "sounding Gallentean" in similar circumstances. The Gallente have never had a monopoly on "opportunity". Anyone in the State who works hard has a chance to move up in society - which is, as far as I know, a proper use of the word "opportunity". If the Federal propaganda machine has somehow trademarked the word so that only you personally may use it, and only in the specific ways that you want it to be used, then news of that has not made it to Caldari space. You may not see it as an opportunity by your definition because it is the opportunity to serve your community and employer well and improve your living situation through those efforts, rather than the opportunity to fill your own pockets by convincing other people that they will be happier if they buy some new gimgaw or whatever you are choosing to define "opportunity" to be, but there is still more than one way to use a word and see the world.

At the risk of further derailing this discussion, I would point out that our original conflict with your people arose partly because we chose to seek opportunities outside of your ancestors' reach, so I suppose it should be no surprise that at least some among you still do not see anything as an opportunity except if it serves your own purposes.

As for the original point of this thread, I am gratified to see both the successes of the State Protectorate forces and the generous recognition of LDIS. Anvatkaa yn Moitte, Captains - you do the State proud.

If you really think foreign military occupation does great things for a local population, I suggest you go get a better grasp on reality. This is not something specific to the Caldari, but for any situation like this.

As for claims, go look up old Scope reports from 111. Food shortages, communication blackouts, blockades, collateral damage, and all the other things that can be expected.

The systems of Iges and Uphallant, under ownership of NOH during the occupation, saw crime and piracy skyrocket, which is unsurprising given that megacorporation's connections to the underworld. Similarly, the highly unethical SuVee were rather ruthless in their administration of their purchased systems. You can guess how Kaalakiota was like, given how their CEO, Tibus Heth, despises all things Gallentean.

I do not see where I ever claimed that no hair was mussed on a single precious Gallentean head. I will freely admit that many of your people have come out poorly. I do object to what appears to be a blanket statement on your part that no locals have benefited at all. The Scope may prefer to cover only stories of deprivation and horror because it is good for their sales figures, but if you read Caldari business journals you will see that there are success stories too - mining operations where the management was removed and a former foreman took over and productivity and worker satisfaction is up, manufacturing lines that had dangerously old equipment where Caldari companies came in and renovated, reducing work injuries and improving profits... these may be isolated cases, but they are happening whether you wish to acknowledge them or not. Your former citizens still represent the vast majority of the labor available in those regions, and in the better cases we work with them as well as work them.

I am also somewhat personally offended, as a child of Wiyrkomi, because we already had good working relationships with some of the local systems, such as those of the Amevync Constellation, and our bids acted primarily to protect those arrangements. I will not claim that all is beautiful and rosy and perfect in those systems either, but insinuating that the people on the local Roden Shipyards and FedMart stations are suffering horribly under the Bootheel of Caldari Oppression (tm) is just peddling vapor.

But I will withdraw and leave you this field of words, and let you wave around your The Scope articles on the Evil Caldari Oppressors (tm). I think we will not see eye to eye, so we are just stroking our own egos by continuing.

My apologies to the good captains of STPRO and LDIS if my discordant contribution of wrangling here offends.

The most amusing thing about people trying to justify occupation of planets for the 'betterment' of the citizens of the Federation is how much they sound like the warmongering Federation senators some 200 years ago.

You use words like 'occupation' and 'capture' while quoting Admiral Tovil-Toba, besmirching the memory a great man who sacrificed himself fighting for the freedom of his people against the same imperialism that you now practice.

Don't kid yourselves, you've become the exactly what you've beheld for so long and you seem content to believe that it is right.

You mean the Serthoulde constellation? Which is such a backwater to the Federation that it only has a Federal Defense Union and Federal Navy Academy station in the entire constellation? Before this war broke out, the Federation was probably using the majority of the constellation's planets, moons, and any "settlements" as target practice for its young Naval officers, far from any one who might care.

If anything Serthoulde has the most to gain from any investment.

They are still warmongering. We came to them to reclaim what is rightfully ours, completely resolving the conflict started 200 years ago.

It's we, who are capturing their peripheral systems now and not they, only because we are more stronger and more determined. And we have something to fight for.

As for 'capturing' and 'occupying', the systems are just resources, and we take them not because we are lacking ours, but because otherwise gallentes and their minions like you will use them against us. And we cannot let it happen.

I never denied we weren't warmongering.

We wanted our planet back, and we took it, so we are warmongers.
You wanted it too like 200 years ago, and you started war, so you are warmongers too.

But really it doesn't matter who was the first or are 'more peaceful'. We fight for what is right and for what is ours, and it is our duty to keep fighting.

However, the traitors are trying to talk people to stop fighting, so you can succeed in your campaign, so it is in our duty too to point on their lies.

So where's the hypocrisy?

So your answer is really not an answer at all, just, 'No you sound Gallente'. At least Diana Kim is willing to answer with conviction, and she isn't even in the State Protectorate.

And why would quoting the Succession Proclamation, a document that railed against imperialism, demonstrate the righteousness of Caldari imperialism?

We already have Caldari Prime, is that what you're fighting for? Because it's been under the control of the State for years now. If you want to protect it perhaps you should be standing a post in orbit, not building an empire light years away. As is the war is seeing millions of Caldari die in a war that you seem happy to prolong until the day State has no 'human resources' left, and for what? Two different things here. There was a pretty muched forced ceasefire agreement after the liberation of Caldari Prime. The war that is going on under the CONCORD militia act was not forced upon the federation by the State. It was a mutual agreement since both parties did not desire peace.
And, I might add, do not desire peace to this very day. Only accusing State forces of prolonging this war is highly biased.

It is indeed quite sad that many in the Federation still desire war. But consider that the Protectorate has captured planets and refers to these homes as 'resources' to be denied to the enemy. It is quite hard for those who desire peace to sound convincing to Federation at large.

You may say that neither desires peace, so why bother trying at all, but what would you have? A war until the last of us is spent? This war accomplishes nothing and I'm sure deep down you know that.
