In before the trolls.

Truth be told, bobody is going to tell you how. Anbody who has a monopoly on it is not going to give his secrets away.

What I will say is that if you dont much about it, stick to P1 raw materials, they are worth more than making them into tier 2 stuff unless you know exactly hat your doing.

1: Dig up stuff
2: Sell said stuff
3: ????
4: Profit

How much isk you say? The more stuff you dig up, the more isk you will get! It's so easy!

Is there such thing as a Corpotation based on PI or is it not that popular yet?

1) setup mining planets [that makes P1]
2) setup advanced factory planets
3) export P1 to 2)
4) if doing in corp then use a corp hanger at 3)
5) make P2 or better
6) sell stuff

My guess is that won't happen until / unless we get the promised updates.

There was another thread with a guy talking about PI corps here.
You could try starting something together mayhaps.

Personally the issue here is there is no way to control PI on the Corporate Level.

I can have a bunch of people extracting materials, but there is no way to make sure they do not go outside their limits. A corporation can not see the planets the individuals are using (except to search each planet for the stupid command center icon and click that) and the materials they are extracting. There would be no way to "correct" someone who decided to start extracting whatever they wanted.

Like most things in Eve, the only way to do this is to trust the people you are working with, and we all know the problems there.

So outside of hiring a ton of Dust players to destroy some corpie gone wild's colony, there is no way to effectively monitor PI, and therefore no real way for a corp to get heavy into it.

for corporation which have 0.0 infra PI will be necessary if they dont wants to have problems with Structure player ( BCU /IHuB , POS ...) but they are no corporation capabilities ( only player tax , no interconnexion with PI infra in same planets for exemple ... )
market PI ... good question . depend whats you want to producer ( fuel , T2 primary component , structure player /outpost component ...)
exemple if you want to produce only P4 ( last produce PI component) and you have One account so max 18 infra (8 per Char )
you can build 16 High factory => 384 P4 per infra => 6912 per day
for the exemple sell price of p4 : 1m ( old price )
you can generate 6.9B per day => 207b per month ... oh Good ...Shocked
But ...Neutral if you analyse the market max vol for 1 p4 per day in sell order are below 4b ... so The market cannot absorb of such volume produced at present

other point its a risky produce P3 price are ofthen to high and dont have enough vol too for supply your produce ..
Other exemple : if you want to produce part of outpost ...dont forget : outpost are invulnerable / 1 per system / limited conquerable system in Eve universe ...
if you want to produce all P4 at the begining (raw :P0) the gain decrease drasticly...

Buy a lot of p1s or p2s and make p2s or p3s in factory planets. Having a freighter to carry around this huge amount of stuff is helpful. You can do it one jump out of Jita, making a 15% profit on a 1-2 billion ISK investment per character per day.

This is entirely false, not on the specifics but on the premise. The problem with trust in EVE Online (or any video game) is that you don't know the people you're dealing with most of the time. That's your mistake. Play with people you know. That's what the folks from Penny Arcade do (Merc Industrial), it's what the folks from Reddit do (Dreddit), it's what the folks from 4chan do (Autistic Sharks), and it's what we folks from Something Awful do (Goonwaffe). Within a community that exists outside of this particular video game, there is a much greater sense of group cohesion and willingness to cooperate towards mutual goals.

At this point I am wondering how you are going through 1-2 billion isk worth of materials on a factory planet each day per character.

You are limited to 5 planets, each planet limited to roughly 24-28 factories depending on size. Optimally that's only 134400 T2 materials each day. Which is anywhere from 75-200m isk for material cost.

Unless you are talking of T4-T5 production but those markets are very slow to be able to maintain that level of production.

And that represents 2% of eve community, maybe.

PI is setup to be an individual activity and does not lend itself that well to an entire corporation doing it. Like most of industry in eve it is flawed towards the individual, with no real protection to a corp.

I ran a T2 production corp, I ran the risk of the manufacturers either walking off with the materials i contracted to them, or charging them for the materials that went into the runs they were doing. Asking someone to give you 500M to give them the materials to make something and sell it back to you at 550M is tough for new players.

To do PI as a corp, I would again have to trust someone with a lot of isk in P1 and P2 goods, or charge them for the raw materials. Either way its a system that is either hard for new players to be involved in, or ripe for theft.

So as someone that does not know another eve player within 100 miles of me personally, and does not know most as more then an alias and voice on comms, the issue of trust and profit still make PI difficult to fathom on a Corp/Alliance level as more then a POS fuel buying program.

wondering the same thing. I am forced to assume that's what he's pulling in from pi sales excluding the 90% cost of buying the refinables off the market. At least until he feels the need to protect his epeen with proof.

I don't claim to make billions off pi but i know what net profits are.

A simple way to make PI less solo-exclusive would be to just add the ability to link goods between different colonies on one planet.

And now I am imagining Coruscant type planets with sprawling webs of PI colonies covering the surface. This appeals to me.

Making P4 level things (broadcast nodes) from P3 could take this kind of capital per character, but I can not see a P1 to p2 or P2 to P3 reaction taking more then 500M per character.
