Hey everyone! I wrote an industry tool for windows that focuses on how to make the most isk per hour for manufacturing, datacores, reactions, and single jobs. Basically, I was looking for something that I could quickly get production prices/profits for so I decided to just build my own.

It updates skills and standings from the EVE API and has scanning functionality for blueprints with full key. For pricing, it uses EVE Central. After about a few months of testing, I'm going to release it out to the community. Super awesome thanks to everyone that tested and provided feedback and bug reports. I'm sure there are more out there, but I think the major issues are taken care of.

Here are some screenshots for the program:

https://sourceforge.net/project/screenshots.php?group_id=547784

Basic descriptions of what each tab does:

Blueprints - In this tab you can select any blueprint in the game and it will tell you the materials required for building it, the time it will take to build, if you can build the item, and profit/IPH calculations. If the item is T2, it will calculate the invention cost and add it to overall cost calcs, if the item is T3, it will calculate the reverse engineering cost and profitability relative to other items that you could get from the relic. You can also adjust the data for blueprint copies for T2 items.

Update Prices - This is where you can import prices for items from EVE Central for region(s) or systems. Everything in the program uses these prices. They are cached for every 6 hours for the area you set. Note: Do not over ping EVE Central or you will get IP banned.

Datacores - Basically a quick way to figure out what datacores will get you the most isk based on your standings and skills.

Reactions - A table to determine the most profitable reactions per hour. Buttons to ignore prices (mine from pos/gas harvest) or buy from market.

Manufacturing - This tab is where you can run comparisons of different items in the game for determining the most profitable item to make. For example, if you have all the frigate BP's for making Assault ships, you can run them here and see what decryptors are better to use and find out where to spend your time for the most isk. Select types in the BP filter area, and refresh the list to see if that's what you want to calculate. Select options in calculate to filter results after calculations are complete. Note: this might take awhile to run based on the options you choose.

Other Screens:
* Shopping List - Enables you to view multiple items in a list to export to eve for trade runs
* Manage Blueprints - Scan your assets (full key) and set ME/PE information
* Character Skills - override skills to test out items you can't make/invent/re yet

---

The Latest Version is 1.2

If you are interested, you can find the installer and patch notes here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/eveiph/files/

You need Access 2007 or 2010 on your system to run the program. If not, please install the 32 bit version of Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable here:

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=13255

NOTE: Known issue with those that have Access 2007 or 2010 64 Bit versions installed, the program will not run nor will Microsoft let you install the above file. I'm working on a fix. Thanks

---

Please put bug/feature comments here or EVE mail me in game. Right now I'm looking at trying to get all the bugs worked out and not so much into adding new features. I have a pretty large list of features now (thanks to everyone who sent them in) and will update when I can but bugs in the data and such are a priority atm.

Known Issues:

* Those that have Access 2007 or 2010 64 Bit versions installed, the program will not run nor will Microsoft let you install the above file. I'm working on a fix.
* The Program Update message box doesn’t get focus over splash form.
* There is an issue with Decryptors displaying the wrong ME/PE values when checking "Ignore Invention Costs" is checked.
* Exports from the Shopping List in CSV format may display the headers incorrectly.
* The window size is by design and does not allow Maximization at this time. I am working to allow this feature soon.
* Reverse Engineering calculations do not include RE times. This will be added, as well as a setting for this, in a future release.
* Faction items (e.g. Caldari Navy Shield Boost Amplifier) are in the price update tab but will not retrieve prices from EVE Central (they do not exist there). Working to import prices from an alternate source.
* The Manufacturing and Update Prices Table do not allow sorting by clicking on the columns. This is by design.

NOTE ON COMING API CHANGES:

The new Customizable API system goes up on August 30th with the new patch. I am working to get these changes up soon after the new API system goes in but for the few weeks that the new system is up along with the old, please use your old API.

Thanks

Looks pretty simple and informative.

Looking forward to getting my hands on it when I get home from work.

Nice!

Only it seems that inputting 'default' ME/PE values (for non-owned bpo's) also changes the ME/PE values for invented t2 bpc's.

Thanks. I swear I fixed that ME/PE issue with invention but I'll take a look at it.

The default values for non-owned bpo's was by design. Do you want to over-ride your ME/PE values on BP's you own? I guess I could see a reason for that (you have 10 ME want to see how it stacks up against other items if it was researched more?) or is this just for 0 ME bp's you own? Because that would be an easy fix.

No, the default value for non-owned is ok (for me), the only thing is that it also effects T2 bpc's (at least, i didn't check if the calculations are based on for instance -4,-4, but in the ME column it shows the default value after inputting it.

is it posible to make it compateble with office/access 2010 64bit ?

So I'm playing with it and it looks really cool. I especially like the shopping list. One thing I was thinking that it could really use though is to look at your inventory (corp or personal) and give you a shopping list that only includes the stuff you don't already have. Since I usually have a lot of odds and ends floating around in my hangers, it would be a lot easier if I could get a list of just what I need.

Otherwise, great tool. If I have any more feedback I'll let you know.

Cheers,
Sen

I had someone tell me they ran it fine on a system with Access 64 bit. I built the whole thing to use 32 bit though since it's much easier and I really don't have any need for 64 bits. Did you have an error when you tried to install? Or was it the 32 bit engine? Let me know.

Thanks! I appreciate it. Yeah, that's on the list of course. I know what you mean. It's not incredibly hard to query assets but it's on a 6 hour refresh (used to be 24 hours). I could probably add something to the shopping list eventually. I do have some more work I want to do with that anyway. I'll keep you updated.

Ahh yeah, you'll have to install the 32 bit engine. I tried to get around this by installing the dll I need but apparently it's not possible and users have to do this.

Hello,
i wanted to check your app but had no success running it for this character of mine. Apparently your piece of code is unable to handle names containing apostrophe.

Message: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'CHARACTER_NAME = 'Shangra Mu'zgob''.

It would be nice to see this fixed in one of your next releases.

Looks like a good alternative to EVEmeep (that keeps crashing on my computer). I'll give it a try. But I do have a request: Is possible to make a portable version? So I can keep it in a thumbdrive or in a Dropbox folder (I use to play in a laptop and in a desktop).

Yeah, that's an easy fix. I'll get it patched tonight. Can you let me know where the error occurred? I thought I had that error corrected in all the places it would come up but guess not. Thanks

That may be difficult since I use the user folders for write access and also the access db engine. I really would like to make it portable and not deal with an installer (maybe just .Net) but it's not easy to do right now. Maybe someday I'll switch to a different DB system but that's a heavy lift.

SQLite is your friend. ;-)

I'd love to help, but my VB is crap. If it was Java or Ruby or really anything non-Microsoft, I'd pitch right in...

Yeap, I learned about SQLite about 5 minutes after I finished the major development on this. It might not be as big a deal as I thought and I'd like to move to soon. I use SQL.Net so I should be able to port it easily. I just have to build the database and my updater.

As far as my VB...well it's crap too lol. I learned VB6 and then switched careers so this is just a hobby. Finding a lot of cool stuff in vb.net but it's a process to learn new things.

Looks kewl but having issue with blue print import feature.

I have multible entries of every blueprint I own in "blueprint management/scanned corp BPs" and every time I scan corp blueprints again, 1 more entry of each blueprint will be added to the list.

Haven't found button/option to reset this list and I believe that it should be reseted in start of every new search... however for some reason this does not happen.

Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your project.

Thanks for the feedback. You are right, it should clear the list each time and that's what I intended. I'll try and get a fix up soon.

dude u're app is getting sexier and sexier...

only thing missing, auto-select decryptors... during the manufacturing calc, have it also run thru the decryptor options to see which makes the higher IPH/Profit (depending on which you tell it to select decryptor by)

Thank you for fix, selecting character is ok now.
Another issues i have:
1, i'm unable to resize application window.( -windows cannot be resized & maximized)
2, skill list behaves incorrectly as some skills are multiplicated - see pic below:

Unfortunately when you attempt to install the 32 bit engine while having a 64 bit office product installed, the 32-bit engine installer aborts and tells you that you cannot do that.

i liked the option on invention to select what run BPC you are using.

It means that i can get an accurate result for the 1-run copies for ship invention.

Maybe you want to add something like 'estimated decryptor cost per invention success', as right now you get decryptor cost per invention attempt. just an idea

I may be blind or stupid.. but.. how do I put the price in a meta item to calculate the invention value? For example, I want to calculate the "Tracking Enhancer II" invention using a "F-aQ Phase Code Tracking Subroutines" as a meta item to improve the success chances. How do I set the price of the f-aq?

I like you;re system but find some bug... At the Update Price tab i want manually update a price, but can't put dot '.' or coma ','. There is any other possibility to change price manually?

Edit:
Find somehow... If i write somewhere else the price with dot e.g. "4.11" and then copy and paste it :P
