How would a corporation based around PI work?

Generally I am thinking that really you are only limited in PI by the amount of people you have. If you had a corp, you could have individuals each running a different part of the supply chain.

How would profits work though? Say you are manufacturing with your colonies, someone else is producing. How do you split the profits? Do you buy the T1 goods from them for market price or slightly higher, or do they give you the goods, you refine them and then sell them and split percentages? What percentage is fair to each member in the chain?

if you're gonna do that.

Extractor planet person sells to P0 -> P1 factory planet person. High enough to cover export costs, plus some profit.

P0->P1 planet sells to P1->P2 and/or market. High enough to cover buy, import, and export costs, plus some profit.

Repeat step 2 as many times as necessary to get to the proper "level" of planetary item, modifying "P0->P1" and "P1->P2" as necessary (e.g. step 3 would be P1->P2 sells to P2->P3)

It would have to be in null or WH space to work IMO.

Have members drop PI items in a pos structure. Pay them Jita-10% to 20% for transport. That way they get cash up front and dont have to bother with delivering.

Delivery guy will buy PI items, this is usually a director, then move PI items to market. Delivery guy keeps the 10%-20% - and/or can manage the commodties for a higher percentage.

To add specialization, have delivery guy contract with a corp member who is specialized in trading and he will manage commodity.
