Well, that doesn't sound as bad as the Vatican molesting hundreds of children everyday in church camps everywhere in the world

from Breivik's manifesto:

I'm not going to pretend I'm a very religious person as that would be a lie. I've always been very pragmatic and influenced by my secular surroundings and environment. In the past, I remember I used to think; "Religion is a crutch for weak people. What is the point in believing in a higher power if you have confidence in yourself!? Pathetic."

Perhaps this is true for many cases. Religion is a crutch for many weak people and many embrace religion for self serving reasons as a source for drawing mental strength (to feed their weak emotional state f example during illness, death, poverty etc.). Since I am not a hypocrite, I'll say directly that this is my agenda as well.

If praying will act as an additional mental boost/soothing it is the pragmatical thing to do. I guess I will find out ... If there is a God I will be allowed to enter heaven as all other martyrs for the Church in the past. I am pursuing religion for this very reason and everyone else should as well, providing it will give you a mental boost.
_________
That is not the testimony of a "fundamentalist Christian," much less a credible profession of faith. Upon closer examination the "cultural Christianity" that Breivik briefly refers to elsewhere in his manifesto is merely ideological window dressing. At bottom, he's just another philosophically/politically driven sociopath who refuses to be subject to any law higher than himself. One of the reasons I say this--beyond the sheer horror of his brutal, murderous actions--is that even now Breivik doesn't care a whit about what Norwegian society thinks of him, let alone the judgment of Christian ethics. Strip away the quasi-religious cant and this guy is basically a clever variant of an anarcho-terrorist.

Don't go confusing the narrative! They have the perfect story to both blame Christianity and apologize for Islamists who refuse to assimilate, and they're sticking to it!

"Anders Breivik is a mass murderer, and in no way do we condone his actions. But that doesn’t mean the problems he cared about don’t exist and don’t need to be addressed.
The sad reality is that in fighting monsters, he himself became one."

Usual left wing dribble. Now they will compare Brevik to Al-Qaeda, Pakistan and Iran, explain to all of us how terrible Christianity is (god forbid to say a word about Islam as they will call you a fascist right away), they will stick Brevik in your face for years to come every time their jihadist friends will massacre innocent ppl anywhere in the world just to make their point that we (the West) are no better, that the US is the ebil empire that wants to enslave the noble savages - innocent and pristine Muslim world...

The sad thing is that I think this is only the beginning of this kind of thing in Europe. From what I've read on the internet and various other forums (no, not Stormfront, regular ones), it's become clear to me that not as many Europeans are liberal and tolerant as they are made out to be here in the US. If one man has acted upon it, imagine how many more are thinking it?

From that little excerpt it sounds like the man wasn't really a "right-wing Christian fundamentalist" so much as he was just using religion as an example to express how he felt about multiculturalism. He wasn't "right wing" either, really, but he was indeed a xenophobic sociopath that people didn't pay attention to.

Someone, somewhere, must have observed him or seen his rants on the internet or SOMETHING, and failed to report it.

I heard Shariah "states" in UK beggin to appear. Are you going just stand and wait, when they put black bags on your woman heads, and forbid you to eat pork and drink beer?

When this type of culture will have power and majority, nobody will let you have your own "rights".. You will be forced to obey to new culture, or die. Thats the difference, compared to how we treat those aliens now

His 'manifesto' makes it pretty clear he's not just a Christian Zionist, but also either has delusions about being associated with the Knights Templar, or in fact is. One thing that gives weight to that claim is he's a Freemason. Something media outlets won't touch with a 10 foot pole.

He claims he's just the first in a series of planned attacks from the PCCTS. I tend to believe he's just trying to slander them, if he was truly acting on behalf of the PCCTS i doubt he'd be so up front about it, but the mason thing does make me wonder.

It's entirely possible he's been brainwashed, but by whom exactly, and why?

I've noticed a weird trend. It's ok to bash Christianity, but call out Islam and you're a xenophobe. Only the hardcore atheists seem to have balls and call out Islam on it's hypocritical BS as well.

I'll grant you the people who first called the bombings and shoots another Islamic plot jumped the gun, as the details of the acts didn't correspond with traditional Islamic terrorism. (Civilian targets in busy city centers/commercial zones. They also weren't suicidal.)

No offense, but take a look at all religion. *******s, and nut bags in all of them. So I can't specifically say one is better/worse than the other because throughout history people from all of them have done horrible things...(Yes even Buddhist which is more of a philosophy.)

TL DR If you're going to call religion out on it's "zanny antics" call them all out because it's all the same.

I like how when people criticize Christians it's 'bashing', but when people criticize Muslims it's 'calling out'.

During my travels and work in EU states i notice that nearly every person of European origin was fed up to the teeth with immigrants from Middle East or Turkey. Which wonderfully not included Israel. A lot of people in EU was supportive of Israel stance and called their own politicians dumb idiots but seen nobody worthy of voting for who would not be too far right on other topics and thus many of them was not going to vote at all. They were mostly stemming out in conversations with friends and keep voices down in public not to be stickered "fascists". And that was people not connected to each other anyhow with various backgrounds and views on many topics ranging from center left to mostly center right.

Even in such tolerant and peaceful city as Berlin I noticed how much "migrants" areas were different from regular population areas. And these migrants isn't really migrants. Most of them already second or third generation born in Germany. I came to Berlin totally neutral to entire city and its population on education and travel trip. I left a few month after with deep dislike of "migration" areas of Berlin. They were like a red flag on a black background. Dissonance was astonishing. Back then i thought all that disharmony had to blow out one day since political "tolerance" and "multiculturalism" chatter and real life was nowhere near each other.
Of course i could not even in worst nightmare think about something like what happened in Norway. My estimates was about people's demonstrations and may be some domestic violence but nothing even close to what had happen.
The policy of don't see don't exist that many political left enjoy has to end. Immigration mean assimilation. Immigrants cant come and create a part of their country of origin with its laws in their new country. They either assimilate among the population or go back to their countries of origin. As long as this wont be implemented in full I fear we will see more actions of a lone madmans in EU who got fed up with the policies of their governments which disregard their own people in favor of "poor muslims" or whatever other group it would be.

Norway shootings was action of a madman. A sociopat and obviously he requires medical attention since no sane man would do something like that. However his actions show that steam under the hood is way above estimated in EU.

May be EU need to look at American and Israeli experience of assimilating large numbers of immigrants from various countries. May be immigrants round to each other or return to their original countries laws because they experience extreme hardship to assimilate within society since society not willing to accept them. There are two sides of the medal. But that one have to be solved soon and politicians have to come down to earth before we have another Weimar republic on a bit larger scale go down the historical trash can.

Let me express my deep condolences to relatives of victims of Norway madman.

-RE :someone failing to report him?
Report him for *what* exactly? The guy's main talking points are virtually indistinguisable from posts on xenophobic right wing political forums all over the internet, the police can't keep tabs on *all* of them.
-RE : He wasn't really right wing?
How do you figure? He espouses Christianity over other religions, thinks women should be mothers first and workers second, thinks immigration is bad, and has a poor view of non-whites. That matches the vast majority of traditional right wing viewpoints. People have taken quotes from his manifesto and quoted them anonymously on right wing forums. There they score positive reviews before their real source is revealed.
-RE : Yes. Most European countries have liberal governments with a big focus on multiculturalism which reflect the views of the population, because hey they're all democracies. And like all democratic countries they have people who do not share those views, and have political parties to represent their more right wing views. Many of which have gained ground over the last few years. There's nothing forcing men like Breivik to use violent means to push his government closer to his own views when there's a democratic method right there. I would agree that its a failure of the American media, especially Fox News, to paint Europe as an overwhelmingly multicultural(yet also apparently monolithic) socialist place.
