Earlier today, milestone two in the EVE is Real museum
was reached. Sadly, we discovered that there was a lot of click fraud and gaming of the sharing feature. As a result, we’ve reset the second level milestone to a level that indicates sharing that was done by actual humans. This translates to about 4,000 or so actual shares, which is too few in number to have unlocked level two.
We’ve determined that a small number of individuals are actually spamming the share feature. They have been attempting to take advantage to what we feel is a positive aspect of the EVE is Real site: the only login requirement is to the social networking sites you are sharing to (Facebook, Twitter, Reddit), and there is no EVE-specific logins or personal information being provided by the end user. Please note that we are only counting Facebook shared votes towards the milestone count, however, we do encourage you to use Twitter and/or Reddit if they are your preferred social networking tool.
In the meantime, we will be distributing 1,000 Aurum on Friday, July 29 as planned as the reward for unlocking the first milestone earlier this week. Congratulations to everyone! A lot of amazing material has been posted to the EVE is Real museum, and we hope to continue to see many more amazing submissions from you.
