Oh, and Apolo, you know what I really really want for Christmas! A space cowboy line! I'm a huge fan of Serenity, though the outfits would need a bit of effort to make them more evey. I also want a pony and a firetruck.

Also, I wonder if some items will be carried over between WiS and WoD, Like high heels? Those could work in both... (Depending on the heels.)

I wonder wether the Lolita vampires will ever make their way into EVE... the Japanese are coming to New Eden! Laughing

But so far, the only issue I have is with NEx it's price. And it's a very serious issue.

to be fair, nothing in the store looks that appealing or spectacular to me, but I'm certain that more effort and money were put into these items regardless.

I don't care how much effort and money is put into something, I care about the quality of the item. So far I'm not impressed enough to elevate the value of these items above those of other games. Besides, as time goes by those items will start to look worse compared to new games (and items?) anyway. Then CCP will redo their graphics and people will complain about the cyno effect being changed.

1) Well I don't like paying for real things, so I can definitely relate. But I pay quite a bit of money to wear nice clothing in real life, because I care about how I look, it's important to me. I also care about how I look in games, it makes me feel more immersed, and it makes the game more real. What is real anyway? According to CCP, Eve is.

"Eve is real" is just marketing; Eve is a game and has far too many inconsistencies, absurdities and limitations to be real.
So far as immersion, how immersed do you feel when you pull your wallet out and spend the money you made in some job that has no bearing on Eve to buy something in game?
Or if you just use isk to buy something somebody else bought with money, how immersed do you feel when you spend more on a shirt than you do on a battleship?
How immersive is it to totally ignore the value of isk as described by all of Eve's lore up to this point?

You may spend quite a bit of money in real life, but the cost of these items, in Eve terms, dwarfs that of the most expensive, one of a kind outfits ever created on Earth. There's no RP reason capsuleers shouldn't be able to get nice clothing for 1 isk if you look at the lore. I mean hell, if they can't, then everyone that's not a capsuleer goes through life naked.

2) They mentioned something about wanting to do this, I think it would be awesome, I doubt they'll ever get around to it.

I hope to see it, but yes, given CCP's track record the past several years, we can't really expect them to actually follow anything in Eve through to completion. I have a feeling they'll put a lot of work into Incarna in general though, as they see it as a wonderful way to squeeze every last penny out of us. Well, maybe not pennies, that's too small for them; every last $20 bill. We're like ATMs.

3) They should have at least one type of outfit available to everyone, and if they give out Aurum periodically as they should, then if you save and spend carefully, getting certain items won't be too difficult. Tis a good point though.

If they do what some other games have done, which is give people some item shop cash each month they subscribe, that could help somewhat. So far I haven't heard them even suggest they are thinking of doing this, but I may have missed it.

4) Very good point, though to be fair, what's currently out their for free is already pretty good, and if they continuously add more to it, then I doubt it will be a huge issue.

Again, I may have missed it, but I didn't notice CCP mention they want to release more free items; I think the existing ones are because they don't want us all to be naked, that might limit their potential playerbase and thus $.

It doesn't matter if you're happy buying something, as long as you buy it.

If I'm not happy buying something that I don't need, I won't buy it. I don't think I'm the only such person.

People will buy food whatever the price, because they need it.
Luxury goods, they will buy at the price they are happy with, which may not be what retailers value the item at. An example of this is the used games trade; publishers are trying very hard to bury that practice, because they think they are losing sales; in actuality, people will just wait until prices drop.

I didn't read the OP - but are you suggesting that the NEX sell real life women?

If so, +1.

Hi Rhasphody,

I am the producer responsible for the Virtual Goods business at CCP. Obviously we are very rough around the edges on multiple fronts with our offerings in the NeX. So I very much agree with your comments.

Color, styles and themes, types of items, bundling capability, getting our pricing spectrum established, Male vs Female appeal, how we describe the goods/items, character creator, how we communicate with the player base, ease of use, fulfilling fantasy, UI / Shopping experience, payment options, satisfying the FiS crowd, growing Incarna adoption, technical limitations with the game engine, even our analytics capability needs a lot of work.

Its going to take some time, we are watching and listening, and I would like to think we will get really good at this one day.

It is our intent to offer things on the cheaper side as well other price ranges. First batches of items did not hit a wide spectrum, nor did it offer enough variation in look or color. The current items are all part of a military theme, color variation on this these will start to show up after the summer but we also have other themes in various phases of development and want to get them out as quickly as we can.

I would love to see examples of what you would like to see, I can take them to our fashion artists and creative directors, push some buttons. I also want to set up voting and an idea funnel for players. Hear other perspectives based and consider the results as part of our decision making process.

Question for you and other players, we see a lot of popularity with the skirt and the knee-high boots. Why do you think this is? What do you feel about showing more skin with our clothing offerings?

When you think about lower price points, what price ranges would work better for you? Consider a few points though... clothing is not destructible, players usually focus their game play on a primary character, volume wise we have a modest player base (we don't have 10's of Millions of players) and only a % of people that will buy. Beyond how you look, do you also value originality, rarity, design, lore, how something would sound and animate in how you view price?

FiS players, don't worry we are think about you too. Just need more time. Very Happy

CCP Apollo:

Have a question that I hope you can answer for me. I have been unable to find a Ishukone Special Edition Sterling Dress shirt. I saw the item once in the Noble Exchange, at a time when I was not prepared to buy, and have not been able to locate it again. Can you please direct me where I need to go to purchase.

EVE Online - the MMO for girly girls and manly boys.

God, soon I'm gonna have to start hiding the fact that I play EVE by claiming that I have a WOW account. I think I'd be less ashamed at this point.

Hello Kitty Online is -> that way.

Don't let the door hit you on that well-dressed girly arse of yours.

I think OP is right. There are few selection to make on cloths, and also very expensive.
i for one have no idea, how many more skirts or dresses and stuff would it take. What colors and shapes?
Perhaps the girls here could enlighten us by demonstrating what they mean using their RL cloths and taking poses for us.

I'll pay your ******ed immersion-breaking clothing tax if you give me a short enough skirt and a transparent top like the one I used to wear.

So if you want your nail polish as fast as possible, claim to be jewish and youl have it in a instant!

Good luck with that. CCP is partly owned by a known neo-nazi with Russian mob ties. I bet that would fall on deaf ears.

What is up, with all the people in EVE, does no one have helpful information concerning where I can buy a Ishukone Special Edition Dress shirt? Where are the people that have the answers to simple questions? Was it only offered for a limited time, do I need to travel to a certain location? I am not looking for wise ass responses, just simple factual answers.

No you got it all wrong. They gave us these "see thru clothes goggles" so youll look better, without investing any isk

I knew those monocles had to be good for something, though considering all the fake chicks, that may be more of a con than a pro
