A better solution would be to make Mittens the permanent chairman and allow him to appoint the rest of the CSM as he sees fit.

Ninja please.

I shudder to think what would happen if the pubbies regain control.

CCP Xhagen pointed out the disconnect between the functions of the CSM and the parliamentary scheme of the Assembly Hall.

CCP demonstrated an example of a Web 2.0 forum with a Reddit-style upvote system used in Iceland for direct democracy. However, some CSM members expressed discomfort with the idea of direct democracy in terms of game design decisions;

ideas which are popular with players are not necessarily good for the game, and ‘voting’ sets up an expectation of delivery from CCP.

For the love of anything possible sacred, please do NOT run for CSM.

The wakeup call you'd get from exposure to the inside would ruin the EVE experience for you. We'd loose another great player, and possible everything he has built over the years.

I'm dead serious.

I have no doubt you would give it everything you have with a very professional approach, suitably combining accountability, insight, oversight, communication, representation. But really, look at what happens to those who try to stimulate meaningful change with honesty. They disappear.

Then it's simple, vote them out at the next election, who is in the CSM is one area where we the playerbase can have a say

I know that when the next elections come up, I will take more notice of it and vote

Actually mr. I know it all, Mittani is the best thing thats ever happened to CSM and EvE, with a player that has a sincerly high intellect for this game. far beyond many others.
Try to meet mr.mittani face to face like on FANFEST and youll know better, WHY he won CSM elections. dont sit at the sideline and whine. beacuse u werent there.....

If you're unhappy with this CSM all you have to do is form an alliance, recruit thousands of members, train one of those members to talk out of his ass, and make sure he gets hired by CCP as lead designer for flying in space. Then get all your members to vote for you and you will have as much influence over the game as Alex and Kris do.

Umm, what is this ****? Being an employee of CCP should automatically exclude you from being on the CSM.

There is no ccp employees on the csm you dumbass.

Why, because he was going from dev to dev spinning a tale about he and Soundwave having each other's back and how he could do the same for them?

Yeah, it's worked out really well hasn't it, social engineering for gaining influence via personal relations. Last I recall, CCP and the brosefs walked right over them, even misrepresenting CSM, not informing them, ignoring them, and even running off with a statement they made while managing to twist that statement into the exact opposite - and then use it as a stamp of approval for what CCP wanted to do, for which CSM warned them but got ignored.

Mittani has basically turned what was CSM into a show on stage in service of personal gain. Nothing more, nothing less. He's been honest about that intent, so anybody surprised now really shouldn't be surprised. What you could be surprised about is how completely ineffective his chosen methods have turned out to be, tbh how counterproductive they have turned out to be. But really it should not be a surprise.

I still have hope that this CSM 6 will yield us something useful, but as always that only ever happens the term after the term, so that'll be CSM 7. Just like the roots and push for nullsec, time dilation, polishing, gridlock, bff and so forth are in CSM 5, so will whatever CSM 6 may start doing surface in CSM 7.

is it still a pre-requisit that you have to be in an alliance ive always thought there should be at least one of the little guys in the csm as theres a huge number of players who are not alliance based but should still have a voice

The CSM members always have status as an e-celeb and giving up that status voluntarily (by quitting EVE, telling their worshippers to quit or stopping to uptalk their influence on CCP) is not an option for most of them.

Until that is solved the CSM are just sockpuppets in the hands of CCP - too reliant on the little extra validation they get out of this game to represent the players' POV.

Whenever one of the CSMs opens their mouth I end up thinking I am listening to a CCP employee (employee, not company rep/PR person). That's not what I elected them for.

The CSM is infiltrated by low life wannabe internet pirates. They represent no other than their own interest, and will do all in their power to make them self richer. I bet mittani and white tree have gottn their bot programs from the russians.

From the video of the CSM meeting with CCP, all I can say is Mittani has never ever bought 1000 dollar jeans or anything that is remotely fashionable. Just hideous. I just wish We didn't have CSM's as they are useless.

I really do hope the CSM gets ABC removed from Wspace. Then instead of mining abc when we have no ops going, I can scan down nullsec exits and pop hulk bots in nullsec belts.

Voting them out is a nice thought, but impossible. The 'election' is a sham. It's rigged by exploiting goons and cheaters. Hence the current state of affairs.

Eve used to be full of intelligent people, we got some real dumb mofos in here.

First of all you can't vote people out, you can only vote them in.

Secondly CSM has alot of benefits and perks that ingratiates CSM to CCP.

In other words they don't represent us TO ccp, they represent ccp TO us.

You can think of them as unpaid devs who can't code.

Their job is to make us feel like CCP is hearing us even when they're not.

If CCP was listening we wouldn't have CQ, we wouldn't have Nex, we wouldn't have Auer, and we'd have a decent spaceship game.

I take this whole thing as an abject lesson.

Eve used to be a worthwhile project to produce something like Elite in MMO form.

I supported it all this time even tho it was pretty bad, like supporting your favorite artist.

Now they are swelling with money and going for projects that to me sound plain stupid. I won't give them another penny.

And the lesson here is kiddies, don't pay for "vision" because vision changes.

Pay for deliverable product.

Don't play a game for years in hopes that SOME DAY it will all be good, because chances are it will turn out like Eve.

If you are not having fun in Eve right now, right this minute, don't even bother paying in, it's never gonna be what you think it is.

The game 4 years was better than today.

I don't even know what to call this now, it's not a space sim, it's some kind of mush with space in it.
