Same here, but I fear the wording was selective. The phrase "Old-school" will intrigue alot of bittervets, for the coming of the good old days.

I just hope its true, I simply have strong doubts that all those safe income sources will be removed from empire and 0.0 will see more guerilla fights, it just doesnt cater to the best interest of the carebear masses.

I don't understand why providing people with more options about how they can play EVE is a bad thing. Plus, he was just stating that it was a cool idea in the context of the sandbox--he did not say that he would be switching BFF's focus in any way.

There is one thing i heard from the vets, when i started to play.

"Don't try to do everything. Because if you are a jack of all trades, you are master of none!"

It's a SPACESHIP game! When are you peoples understand this?

They already said they have LIMITED resources, so way waste with things NON RELATED with spaceships?
So the idea of being a master fashion king, or whatever, it's just stupid!

No.

EVE is about politics, marketing, logistics, resource management, innuendo, exploitation, theft, lies, truth, invention, relaxation, intrigue, statistics, exploration, eye candy, team work, strategy, trust, suspicion, tactical analysis, public relations, income, spreadsheets, drama, comedy, skill, mistakes, capitalizing on mistakes, infrastructure, propaganda, extortion, ambush, reflexes, market manipulation, empire building, scams, mining, conquest, rebuilding, relationships, fleet combat, innovation, grinding, ganks, transportation of goods, economics, hot drops, fashion and... spaceships.

What game have you been playing? Wink

I dig what soundwave is trying to say. I hope he follows it through and that his definitions of things are the same as mine.

Soundwave is a goon. Mittens is a goon. Goons have always said that they would destroy EVE. Do the math.

Why do people keep comparing CCP to the Goons? Last time I checked, the Goons are no longer a threat.

I wasn't comparing anyone to anything. Kristoffer Touborg is a long-time member of goons. (He was even a goon director, stoffer ninjapirate.)

Man, I haven't seen that in a long time. Good memories from back in those days. Friends, community, blowing up ships. Good times :)

Well the thought of someone only playing to maintain there fashion empire makes me want to stab myself in the face with a rusty trombone

Since when did you give a crap about how someone plays fairly in Eve Online? I strictly do mining, manufacturing and bot hunting, but I don't complain about others playing the roles of just either a market trader, pirate or a missioner. How others play the game fairly is none of my concern.

Yep. I don't really care if you mine, pvp or design clothes. In fact, the more "professions" people can come up with, the more awesome. That's just my view though.

Correct the more professions the better the game. Ignore the control ****'s trying to force everyone into becoming their PvP entertainment for the evening.

Think about it this way.

Unless there would be unlimited facilities in each station to create/manufacture clothing, there would have to be transportation of clothing goods to get to the various market hubs. Cargo holds full of nice, juicy designer jeans. Wink

Now if the materials necessary to make those goods came from PI materials, that would be a nice boost to people making or supplementing their income from that source.

Once establishments are released it might be possible to sell player designed items only through that venue. Thus producing an income source for the owners of those establishments.

Just a few pluses to having a "fashion designer" occupation in EVE.

I find it curious that character customization comes before ship customization.

Or game optimization.

Do you realize it still takes people 30+ seconds just to undock?

Do you realize I have to look at "loading" for 10 seconds now every time I dock? (we didn't have that before, so the game is in fact getting worse.)

Do you realize the UI is still garbage?

And you took out ship spinning.

I really hope the plan to attract fashionistas pans out, because at this rate you're not gonna have many spaceship captains left, the game is steadily getting more broken for us with every patch.

this whole thing begs the question

what will players be making a metric ton of crap out of?
and will the glut of a googleplex of tanktops and jeans raise the prices of ships because materials will be allocated to amarr sweatshops and not shipyards?

seriously, lets run with this idea of top model in space for a moment and address the reality that you can't fabricate sellable items in EVE out of thin air.

how will this not affect my ability to buy traditional EVE items at traditional EVE prices?

"The thought of someone only playing to maintain their fashion empire is pretty awesome."

This quote is from the guy that is lead designer of internet spaceships?

Edit - Selfishly this is what i want the lead designer of internet spaceships to say....

"The thought of someone only playing to maintain their fashion empire makes me want to cry then load my tears into an aoe DD and blow the **** out of EVE"

But i'm a selfish prick......

There is room for people to be selfish, everyone is entitled to a view, there plenty of people who play for whom the thought of people running around ganking people in high sec or attacking players with no reason other than lols in low sec makes them sick.

Or equal there's players for whom the though of people wasting their time and getting enjoyment out of such a monotonous activity as mining make them want to fuel their ships on tears and fire cannons full of rage at the nearest hulk.

Plenty of room for everyone's perverted little fetishes in EVE.
