Who has time for that? Not to mention having to fly down every ship you want in 0.0 is also boring. What'll end up happening is alliances will pick the most closed in pipe and assign people to gate camp/bubble up the gates leading from low sec. Or depending on the length of the low sec portion and number of gates involved they'll camp that too.

So you'll get your precious PvP on the first or second gate when your popped upon decloaking.

In the meanwhile the rest of us would be stuck schlepping crap around even more then we do now. This isn't Space U-Haul online. Neutral

If CCP removed jump freighters, alliances would go back to using carriers for POS logistics. And then isotope prices would go up because carriers need more jumps to move the same volume, and then moon goo would go up because moon mining has a higher overhead and takes more time, and then T2 prices would go up to match moon goo prices.

So no thanks.

Comically short-sighted OP is comical.

I do hope that OP's opinion is not indicative of DNS opinion as a whole, as that is an organisation for whom I have much respect;

I would hate to lose one of the few romantic EVE-illusions I have left.

All jump capable ships should be heavily restricted, both in range as ease of use. Jump bridges need to be removed and bridging using titans needs to get some heavy penalties (perhaps make it some sort of siege mode where they can't move for a while and drop their cap to 0).

By doing so the huge power blocks suffer, as they should, in favour of smaller and more mobile entities to live in 0.0. More fights, less stagnant crap and more danger. I'd actually go back to 0.0 if such a thing would happen.

+1

Although CCP will never change it back to how it was when it was good

OP needs to learn what a hack is, and grow a spine. The only thing that needs to be nerfed in Eve are CQ (into oblivion) and whinging players.

really don't blame pvp.

ffs people a 4 billion isk boat ought to have some sort of high end gimmic or its worthless.

if the op wants to ruin someones day that bad he should just go gank the guy in empire and quit being a twit.

This is what killed Shadowbane, is killing Darkfall, would have killed UO were it not for Trammel.

Here's developer Scott Jennings on the problem:

"And in a dog-eat-dog PvP game, there will only be the PvPers, not the targets. Because now people actually have the choice of selecting which game to play, which game suits them best. If a person is targeted for the tender mercies of "evil players" they simply will cancel and move on. The days of UOs One World where many mutually exclusive play styles are forced to interact, on the terms of the more socially maladroit, are over. The market has fragmented, and cannot be put back together. People, when forced to play the role of "sheep" or "stupid newbie", will simply leave."

Trammel was the death of UO.

When you decide to take Scott Jennings' advice can I have your stuff?

Impressive ability to totally ignore the point of Jennings' post.

My point is cargo. If you can jump 300k m3.... Then that reduces the need for people actually traveling through the systems. I don't care about trying to catch a Jump Freighter... They should just be removed from the game.

I remember a time, that if you wanted a drake in 0.0 you had to build it, jump it in a carrier, or fly it up from empire.

Each one of those requires people to move assists through space... Which in turn increases the chances for PVP. It's about the PVP.

It is too easy and too safe to move assets all over the map nowadays...

Um, you do realize that most ships in 0.0 are BUILT out there. So, you just get a stealth bomber, fill it with BPOs/BPCs, and then move it out to 0.0. Kinda defeats all points and topics of your post

DNS just lost one of these OMG KILLING PVP JFs on a pos to a mothership. Clearly it was supposed to be invulnerable and I expect them to petition for reimbursement.

Ok maybe some of you 0.0 people can inform me about how Cynos work but I heave heard they show up on overview(JFs cant use a covert I do know that much), cant you just warp your gank fleet to the Cyno and pop the freighter while it cycles its next jump?

Yes, normal cynosural fields are visible beacons that show up on your overview (if you have settings correct) or in space if you have brackets showing. They are warpable come one come all.

Anyone that doesn't have a veritable armada at their disposal will usually do one of two things anytime they jump to a cyno...

1) bring an ECM boat or two, light the cyno at a station, jump the JF when few if any unknowns are in system, dock up before any significant fleet can respond within the session timer.

2) bring an ECM boat or two, light a cyno at a death star, jump the JF when few if any unknowns are in system, warp to another death star in system, or warp straight to station and dock up, if it is low sec, no chance of bubbles.
a) subset, if you warp to another death star, you have logi ships waiting to recap your JF for the next jump, etc.

Edit: Anyone who would like to hold onto their JF for more than week that is ^

A solo/small corp viewpoint :

I got a maxed out JF pilot who is rarely used and it is somewhat overpowered. It needs a slight nerf to cargo and range - yes range. A maxed out Nomad pilot can jump 11.25 light years with 337,500 cargo. Its a bit much - I'd drop the jump range 10% which will mean many many more cynos.

However as it stands JFs are within the reach of solo(ish) players with multiple accounts. They give us the ability to NOT have to rely on corps to do things when we want.

A nerf on them means a nerf on smaller corps/solo(ish) players.

For example I can jump in some ships to GW/Curse/whatever npc area with some planning. I'll be losing 4bill minimum if I screw it up but I can jump in some decent sized ships that would either take ages or get ganked at a gate.

For a small corp it can mean the difference between trying to live in npc null independently or not.

what would fix the jumpfreighter problem, is if ccp re-introduced kickout stations.

as it stands, jumpfreighters are 100% safe highsec, lowsec, and nullsec. That is, as long as they arnt stupid and cyno themselves 20km off the station, or drift off station without hitting stop.

Hey OP: Tell you what, let's trade. Nerf the JF in return for no more cloaks and no more covert cynos. Because only lazy people sit on the pig waiting for black to light the cyno.Laughing I'd love to hear what Hu has to say on the matter. I'm betting he's not one of your supporters.
