Please can we have a full screen but window mode for the mac client ?! Please show us that you care about the mac client? I cant make my client full screen without it being in full screen mode which doesn't give me the use of my 2nd monitor..

Id love a window that will stretch the full height and width but remain windowed like the other popular MMO that seem to have managed this..

If you do it ill have your babies as a thank you ?

Transgaming have already said this is impossible with their wrapper.

They are looking at other things, but my contact has also said those other things have been back burnered, so I have pretty much given up hope. If I go from native resolution to one resolution lower, I lose 40% of my screen and it looks like donkey doo.

Should crawl off back to the Micro$oft forums, and stop trying to mix with the adults...

Can you link to where they said that? I call bull****.

Cider could easily do it, if it wanted. Cider is a modified version of wine and it can be done with wine. The big problem is the way EVE does things. EVE, under cider, seems to always run fullscreen no matter what. Cider just decides to render the virtual fullscreen as an actual fullscreen or as a window. That's why the window is not resizable: it must have one of the resolutions that are physically available for fullscreen mode.

EVE and Cider will have to work together to support proper windowed mode. That is EVE running in a window instead of in a virtual fullscreen that is rendered as a window. When this will be possible, than a lot of new functionality will open up including:
- resizable windows
- using multiple monitors
- using all of a monitor estate except for the menu bar on the top
- proper interaction with "spaces"
- the new "Lion full screen" mode

I run a mac pro, 3 video cards and 5 monitors.

I also correspond via email with 2 developors, and in private emails they have told me this, I am not going to cut/paste the whole thing, i can do snippets if you likke, but anyone can write snippets.

I also have the email stating that the resolutions changes are no longer a priority for CCP.

Believe me or not, I don't care, but they can't even fix BPO's, and you expect them to work miracles with graphics. They touted windowed mode like it was the second coming.

Thanks General for that very useful post here in the Macintosh section of the forum.

Not that I need to justify to you why I donít have a Windows Computer, but the basis of my work requires a Mac as Windows simply fails with what I do.

However, putting the aside the childish remarks, CCP support and distribute their game for the Mac, the game that we subscribe to and pay money to play. If it was an unsupported client you may have grounds to toll around making such remarks.

It's evident CCP donít invest much time into the Mac to make the overall game play as bug free and pleasing as Windows, however lately you cant argue that even Windows hasnít been bug free and pleasing but thats neither here nor there.

To not give the Mac client equal attention to that of the Windows client is clearly a form of favouritism and discrimination, granted there probably are more people that use the Windows client however if the Mac client didnít exist I'm sure that numbers would still slump quite a bit. It's a bit of a joke when players can diagnose issues quicker than CCP.

You also have to remember that EVE seems to be going into a bit of a downwards spiral, this is a term I picked up from the General Chat forum, so this unfortunately pushes the Mac issues further down into the pit.

I hope for everyones sake, well, those that enjoy playing the game and providing constructive criticism that CCP take the dog by the balls and swing things around.
