Since the trolls wont shut up about this, I have provided a Picture of NPC tracking disruption affecting falloff, for your information, those are T2 tachs with radio crystals, I should have an optimal range of 100km with a falloff of 130km, and here you see NPC tracking disruption in effect http://dl.eve-files.com/media/1107/TrackingDisruption.jpg |

to answer your reply, NPC TD used to only affect tracking and/or optimal range, meaning you could use guns that had lots of falloff to still hit them, with this change, it means you have to be very lucky, use a drone boat, or use missiles.
generally speaking in highsec PVE you are doing something wrong if you consider it lucky to walk away from a mission with your ship still intact,
there is an issue with drones not receiving bonuses at times and that is almost considered death in lvl 4s because you NEED drones to kill scramming frigates so you can get to safety.
that leaves missiles, and therefore you are either flying a drake, a raven, or a tengu. which about 70% of eve online consists of. should you be in the 30%, you might very well die from this before help can arrive |

Any chance that you're affected by the "skills aren't being applied to your ship" bug? (Affects more than just drones.) http://www.eveonline.com/updates/patchnotes.asp Quote:
Skills
An issue causing skills to not be applied to ships has now been resolved. This will be addressed in a future release. Currently you can apply a workaround which is to relog in a station or Log off in space, wait until your ship gets removed from space and then log back in.

NPC tracking disruptors effect optimal, falloff and tracking speed. Been that way for ages too. Once upon a time they didn't touch falloff but that was long ago. I'm amazed some people haven't figured that out yet. Guess some people are just slow. |

Std tachs falloff is around 24km ish with good gunnery skills. Your pic shows an optimal ~around 15-18km and an optimal+falloff range around 40-42km ish.
18km + 24km = 42km
I don't see any change in NPC TD. Falloff is still ignored (been like that for years).
.... and Minmatar boats will be among the first to start making noise if there is such a change unnannouced in the patch notes. I hear crickets.
P.S shane11899 is still visible if your original intent was to redact it. |
