The former Caldari Hilen Tukoss has seen fit to steal assets from his corporation, betray his country in time of war, and void the investment and faith placed in him by his employers. He has shamed his family, disgraced himself, and worse, convinced others to join him in treason. He is a traitor to the State, to his ancestors, and to everything the Caldari hold dear. And in aiding our enemies, he makes himself responsible for future Caldari deaths and defeats.

As such, I am announcing a bounty on the head of Hilen Tukoss. For proof of his death - permanent death - preferably by delivery of the body, I am offering 750 million ISK. For delivery of him alive, to be turned over to Ishukone for justice under the due process of Caldari law, I am offering 1.5 billion ISK. As you can see, I would prefer him alive, but the potential damage he might do to the State means I have no choice but to accept any resolution.

He is currently located at Eram V - Moon 2 - Eifyr and Co. Biotech Production station in the Eram system, Meinigefur constellation of Metropolis region.

Hilen Tukoss-hnolku had many options besides treason. He could have moved to another corporation. He might have appealed to higher authorities. He could have asked any Caldari loyalist for employment or funding. I personally would have been happy to contribute billions towards pure research, which is what he claims to want. And yet, he chose instead to spit in the face of his country and aid its enemies.

Those of you who wish to justify him, ask yourself this: how many of you consider Eturrer, the Gallente traitor, to have been an honorable man? How many of you would trust him? Indeed, and even so also with this Tukoss. The bounty will stand until delivered, or until a representative of the State convinces me otherwise.

Vikarion, your words have changed my mind.

I despise traitors, and, in spite of you are going only after a scientist, I can help you in order to solve some problems in Placid too, unless I will be ordered to stay away from it.

I can hire some soldiers and bring them in a dropship to the designated station. It is located deep into enemy territory, but I have enough experience to handle this task and bring troops intact.

I could lead the assault myself, but it's again about contaminated station atmosphere. At this point I can only give hired troops to you with the hope you can find a loyal commander who will lead them and who is not afraid to become KOS in Eifyr and Co. stations and probably in the whole Minmatar Republic. As for me, I am ready to bear responsibility for this operation.

Why would I pursuit only a runaway scientist? This is simple. Shall we succeed, we could use the same tactic to capture I-RED traitors and turn them to CPD, effectively easing tension in Placid region by removing another threat to the State.

How do you think, worth a try?

750m is 3 (three) fitted battleships!
1.5b is much more than a freighter!
For a scientist?.. He must be really exceptional.
And Mr.Verone talks about increasing bounty... tenfold?
15 friggin billions?!! That's a damn whole fleet! Assassination of Mr.Roden will be cheaper!

Utterly disgusting. A scientist who's intellect and insight are stifled by the witless ape men that pass for management at Zainou suffer a fate worse than death. Threatening to end his life or force him to return to such conditions is not a reasonable or productive alternative. You do not own this man, nor can you own his gift you so desperately covet. Zainou took his abilities for granted and left no alternative, and you continue in this same tradition with such a foolish bounty.

Do any of you Caldari hate mongers think you'll live long enough to actually collect any "bounty" if you go messing around in sovereign Minmatar high sec space with the intention of assassinating Tukoss or destroying Eifyr assets? I'd venture that most of you can't even enter Matari space let alone without being hunted down by Republic Fleet ships (or loyalist capsuleers).

Since you're so upset about this man why not just fly on over there and do the job yourself Vikarion? Are you afraid of something?

Anyway, have fun on this fools' errand.

While it pains me to admit so, the words of Nick Bete, one that counts himself among the pompous and holier-than-thou Gallenteans (hiding under the guise of liberalism) rings of truth. Though many of my people have lost their fight and courage, and deal with daily incursions on our sovereignity to far more organized usurpers, attempting an assassination in our space would awaken the Minmatar sleeping beast and lead to a conflict that would be mentioned in the annals for centuries to come.

I would love to see one of the appropriately called "Caldari hate mongers" try to slip into high sec to assassinate Tukoss. If anything, give prior warning. It should lend itself to some highly entertaining footage.

Given the minor flirtation that Tukoss showed towards "Stitcher", I suspect his career in the State was about to come to a crashing halt in any case.

While I suspect he would have found just as much freedom in the Federation, it's interesting to note that your alleged 'traitor' chose not to flee to the State's historic enemy.

Being 'hunted' by republic fleet ships / loyalist minmatard capsuleers won't stop well-trained captain from reaching his goal.

The main problem for a capsuleer to fulfill the task lies in contamination of station atmosphere.

If someone knows how to overcome this, write here and we will think something about it, and maybe even organize task force.

I see that, despite my attempts to explain, many here do not appear to understand exactly why I offer this.

I do not have a problem with Tuvoss-hnolku leaving Zainu. Indeed, it is not even necessarily with his leaving the State that I take issue. Caldari society, while relatively economically free, puts many unwritten social obligations upon its citizens that some are not able to shoulder. So be it.

But Tuvoss-hnolku had many other options besides turning on his fellow citizens. He could have worked with a capsuleer corporation. He could have joined another one of the Caldari corporations: Ishukone, KK, Lai Dai, Hyasyoda, etc. He could have turned to the Amarr Empire, Mordu's Legion, the Khanid Kingdom, the Intaki Syndicate, the Angel Cartel, the Ammatar Mandate, the CONCORD Assembly...and on, and on. There were possibilities without end for Mr. Tuvoss to explore without harming his friends, neighbors, and countrymen.

Instead, Mr. Tuvoss chose to betray his country. He chose one of the three entities (The Gallente Federation, the Minmatar Republic, and Sansha's Nation) in the cluster that are dedicated to the subjugation and slaughter of Caldari citizens - and make no mistake, as long as the Republic is aligned with the Federation, its goal is such.

We know how the Gallente treat their traitors. Tell me, Matari, how would you deal with one of your tribe who sold his knowledge to the Amarr? Tell me, Gallente, what would you do with someone who turned over his research to the Nation?

The problem is loyalty. I do not mean patriotism. I mean loyalty, as in that basic human obligation not to betray trusts placed in you. Whether you be a Matari Shaman, a Gallente Senator, an Amarrian Holder, or a Caldari scientist, loyalty and trustworthiness are traits that we can recognize and even praise in our enemies and friends alike. But a traitor can never be trusted again. Enemy traitors may be useful, but never respected. Not by anyone wise.

And how do you know that you can trust this Mr. Tuvoss? What if he decides that, say, the Republic is not promoting the kind of research he prefers either? Will you stand in his defense if he flees to Carthum Conglomerate or the Salvation Angels? Forgive me if I rather think not.

A traitor received to your breast is a viper hidden in flowers. It is a threat, a possible poison. There is a reason the State packed Eturrer off to the Empire, rather than employing him. Those of you who trust Mr. Tuvoss to be what he claims he is might do well to reconsider.

I still have discrepant thoughts about this scientist. Of course, he ran to hostile entity and this should be prosecuted. On the other hand, he was guided by desire to make his research more efficient, like all Caldari would do, not to give it away to Republic. That's why I am not very eager to chase him.

Freighter hijacking? Well, I dislike thieves a lot, but this is a problem of the corporation.

There are two main reasons why I can help in getting this runaway scientist:
first - you can make an example of him;
and the second - you can develop method of extraction, that can be used against real traitors.

Such a pity...

I was one of the more vocal voices for friendly terms with the State, and I would have gone to great lengths not to perform hostile actions against State vessels outside of Republic space. I never considered the Caldari to be hostiles as much as a politically unfortunate and temporary inconvenience in the fight against the Empire. My own sister, sharing my name but not blood, is Civire. Through her, and others, I have seen such great similarities between the Caldari and Minmatar. A great deal more, at least, than there is between the Tribes and Federation.

Separated only by unfortunate political reasons, we have no ideological nor practical reason to be enemies, especially considering that we could have been family...

This knee-jerk reaction, coupled with such hostility towards the Tribes who are only enemies of the State as long as the State are allies with the Empire... well, it changes things. Maybe enough that it can't even be repaired. You loyalist State capsuleers are doing much right now to set the hostility in stone, ensuring that there will be further violence and military action between our peoples.

A real pity... when the only real sins either of us have committed against the other was to reach out for aid from the only ones who stretched out a hand during our times of greatest need. And now... now that neither of us have such a need anymore, and could have stood aside and allowed each other peace on one front to focus on our own real enemies... war is ensured by those who fear the past.

Be mournful, State loyalists... you are destroying something before it's even born.

Madam,

I must refer you to my speech, made at the recent 'Day of Tolerance' regarding this issue.

Read it. The Caldari are not, and nor will they ever be, the friends of the Matari. If you reach out to them in friendship, you will find that hand swiftly bitten.

Why, but why do you blame State loyalists in first place?
For example, we don't have much in common with Amarrians, but we treat each other with respect like long-term partners do.

We don't hold grudge against Tribes and are always open for mutual benefit, but you would ask us to break ties with Amarr Empire, and for Caldari loyalty is more than just a word.

But the main problem is that the Republic acts as enemy of the State. And when you act as an enemy, be ready to be treated as enemy.

And the State does not Act as an enemy to the Republic ? I kill Caldari ships in Republic space every day. However like Mizhara I would be happy to see an end to tensions between the Minmatar and Caldari. At the moment any conlict between us is purely "business" not personal, let us hope the argument over this man does not make it something more meaningful and harder to set aside.

Indeed, State acts as enemy of the Republic, this is a mutual conflict. My point was that you shouldn't put all responsibility for this on the State.
