I like most of the SHEEP here oppose this idea entirely along with any "CHANGE" that might happen good or bad.

Taking years for training is GOOD and we should not try to give new players ways to help fast track their enjoyment with more options for remaps.
Playing other games while avoiding Eve entirely while your character trains itself in real time is EXCELLENT and preferable.

Totally do not support anything that helps speed up skill training and increases player enjoyment/freedom and would preferably limit remaps to once every 5 years. If the players are impatient they need to learn to be more patient.

I agree, but with neural remaps, which exist today, it still takes years.

Whilst the total impact of PLEX-for-remaps would be small, it crosses the line, however slightly, of paying for something that can't be obtained in-game.

CCP have a LOT of trust rebuilding to do before I'd consider accepting the risk of letting them do "just one small" power MT. Starting down that road would do more to shorten EVE's remaining lifespan than almost anything I can think of.

Uh, neural remaps already exist. They can be obtained in game, they are obtained in game at a fixed rate. This isn't Plex for gold ammo or gold ships. If you think CCP still has trust to rebuild over an internal newsletter containing speculation that never became a reality, and that they said is never going to become a reality, you need to brush up on comprehension skills.

EXACTLY we don't want more enjoyment or progressing for players, its better to punish them and get them stuck with bad training times for 6+ months when they decide to change game play styles, which is totally their own fault and they have to live with it or QUIT Eve.

Knew someone would herp so hard they derp... well. *edit on my example situations*

And EVE is all about living with your choices. Only trained amarr while minmatar are FOTM? Live with it. And so on.
The only one derping is you youth.

I would love more remaps, even if I had to buy a PLEX to get them.

That's the issue, Old players not wanting new players in the game.

While I cannot support this issue due to the fact that in the end it is buying skill points, just getting them over a longer period of time.

The idea that new players should not come into the game is wrong. New players are what allow the game to continue to grow and stay alive. Should we cater to the new players no. I say this as being a new player. However we should make eve interesting enough to encourage them to play and continue to play. The older players while they should not be necessarily nice should be the ones to come up with the ways to get new players in the game and keep them in the game. The whole attitude of the older players is what is honestly driving players away from the game.

Its not enough to point out why an idea is bad and come up with an counter argument or even a way to make the idea viable, you all trash or wardec the player that came up with the idea. Seriously there have been some decent ideas that have been posted that while not viable and I cannot support have a merit of truth to them and could become viable if everybody worked together to make them viable instead of just trolling.

I was actually thinking reversed....
Turn in a remap for a plex. Say, play 12 months you get 1 month free (or a remap)

I must agree with the 6 month thing, but not necessarily purchasing remaps. My issue is with the fact that after 6 months of a particular remap you have generally exceeded your need for said remap at that particular time. New ships require training, but after that training new ships need support training for mods and whatnot. And with all the different professions available, if somebody decides to turn a new direction, they are stuck until a remap is open. Very restrictive if that period of time is a year. Were not getting any younger and I see no problem accelerating every players training time by 5% yearly due to more productive skill training.

I support the need for change, but not the means by which this thread is suggesting.

As you read in my proposal, I'd rather just see CCP simply give us a neural remap every 6 months. The sad reality of it, however, is that CCP isn't likely going to introduce things like this, unless they can get extra money for it: that's just the result of going with greed these days. :( My proposal isn't so much to propose buying SP, but ere to give CCP an incentive to do the 'right thing,' whereas they're currently unwilling to do so, unless they see a bag of money first.

Why not just cut to the chase and do away with remaps? And indeed statistics altogether.

No seriously though, that's the logical end point of where this is all going. Just have a set learning rate of whatever skillpoints per hour, with no dependency on statistics or implants and leave it there. Then all this petty whining for "just one more" little extra advantage can cease.

Since the whole point of time based skilling is to eliminate skill-grinding and free us up to actually do stuff we want to, then let's do it properly.

Hey guys want to know something? If i worked at ccp i would never have allowed remaps to go active!

Bitter vet here! I remember the days of the game when there were no remaps so you spent the time to make your char properly, or rolled achura. Quit your complaining and balance out your skill distribution.

Why not be able to remap more? All I'm reading is wha wha wha im a veteran and i want to be better then all the new people without having to do anyhting but stare at my screen.. Honestly this game takes no dexterity and the hardest thing in this game is keeping your account active to get SP's. Most of you wouldn't last a second in a real pvp game where you actually have to micro manage your moves.
Yes I support this 100% this. Also they need to make jump clones on a 4 hour timer so you can pvp with a crap clone. You guys are killing this game there is no future with this community.

Edit: I think the price of a remap should be like only 50 mil so it can be done often.

The original plan for remaps had them at once every six months. CCP changed it to once every 12 months after people pointed out that the purpose of remapping was to fix mistakes made at character creation or to allow long-term changes of career - not to allow people to switch skill plan every six months so they could always train at 2700 SP/hr. This isn't desirable because it defeats the purpose of having attributes.

Furthermore, frequent remaps helps veterans much more than newbies, as veterans can more easily afford the ISK cost of a PLEX and can more easily put together a sensible skill plan that involves focusing on Int/Mem or Perc/Willp. Veterans don't need more help in this game, they should already have the advantages of experience, knowledge and contacts.

I support remaps every 4-6 months via cool down, NO MT. I'd rather see my sub go up a couple bucks.

I started in 2006 with my first toons and ever since, I'd always spend those first few months maxing learning on any new characters. I wasn't thrilled about them being taken out of the game, but I'm glad to see them go if it brings in new players. This doesn't cross a line in my book, and we got up to 5.7m SP to spend in other things, possibly skills on our 'off' attributes technically saving EVEN MORE time.

So honestly, if changing remaps to every 4-6 months makes it more appealing for new players so be it. I SUPPORT THIS.

I DO NOT SUPPORT MICROTRANSACTIONS OF ANY KIND IN THIS GAME THOUGH FOR ANY REASON. With that said, I will repeat that I don't support remaps for PLEX/AUR/ISK nor special time with anyone's grandma.

Old vet players need to get over themselves; what's the point in being a vet when there is hardly anyone left in the game one day :P

Negative on that one.

Want immediate satisfaction? Want to do whatever you want without regard to your own mistakes?
World of Warcraft awaits.

Ranka this time i'm sure you are CCP employee. Probably from marketing department attempting to push some form of P2W into the game. So far your proposals are so out of place and so far from EVE but so close to payments for things we are not supposed to pay ever. And your arguments for all of your proposals and posts you make end up in style "pay to get stuff". Either because "other games (WoW) have something like it" which is a false statement since WoW is different game for different base or like "It's recession we need to help CCP" that is totally out of mind since CCP is business and if they make ***b decision (two games and **ck us) its their problem and should not concern my wallet at all. It would work with dumb youth you probably used to deal with wherever they hired you from but most of EVE players are grownups and with enough brains to throw your proposals out of the window. Disgustingly clear marketing department.

You chose your neurals and you have 2 for starters. Then each year you have 1 more. You decide your strategy for a year to come at least. If you can't do that go play instant gratification MMOs that come to market work for a year or two and go off to file bancraupcy.

And stop your marketing campain. It's already way too obvious.

As for players voting for this thing you guys enforce P2W on yourselfes. Don't cry out when and if CCP implement it and you will be flying in empty universe before you leave to other games too. You taking part in killing this game too by voting for ***t like this.

Edit: grammar

I stumbled across this thread while searching for info on whether CCP have ever considered increasing the frequency of neural remaps. I've got to say, EVE veterans are easily the weirdest gamers I've ever encountered in any online game I've played. The way people throw around the term "instant gratification" is actually hilarious. Only an EVE veteran would say it's instant gratification to want to fly X ship fitted a certain way with such-and-such support skills in, say, 100 days rather than 110. Nobody in this thread is talking about a remap after every skill completion.

I'm not in love with paying for remaps either, but it's about the only thing I would pay for. Really, I just think they should reduce the neural remap cooldown to 6 months so that everybody benefits from it, and these bitter vets can stop accusing the rest of us of being CCP shills as a debate tactic.

Most remap sales would be people who mapped wrong in their first year before they knew what they were doing and people who want to train a set for a few months and then remap again.

PLEX for remaps gets CCP money, doesn't affect gameplay, and is only there if you need it. I don't really see a down side other than people just not wanting more stuff in the MT store.
