A tatic has recently been brought to my attention that i thought i would share.

step 1. basically a 1-2 man corp with alts in it would war dec an corp
Step 2 the mains would hunt out that corps players but as they are not in the war dec they would not show as a threat.
step 3 once you see your targets and you know where they are, apply to join the alt corp,

Once accepted you can legally shoot your targets within 10 secs or so.

this is not something i have done or seen done but have been warned of it and thought i would share this detail for those interested and under this possible problem as it it being used more and more.

My suspicion is that this would be considered an exploit. I would suggest a petition to CCP to sort out whether they are ok with that sort of tactic.

It's not an exploit, in fact it is a known and common tactics for catching unaware people - especially in slow ships such as freighters or JFs.

exploit deffo

The whole Wardec application atm is pro grief and sucks
Alt corps with massive killboards but when you check then out the players they are doing 0.1% damage and flying crapfit frigates

1. Vote Raise the Wardec Fee 50mil and 10mil per day
2. Alliance 50mil +5mil per day per corp

all those small corps getting held to ransom would laugh their socks off watching griefers empty their own pockets for a change

You should try o understand that money like that does not solve anything in EVE.

Raising War dec fees is only limiting what poor people can do.

lol limiting what poor people can do...

R&D earn 1mill per day almost passive income
Basic PI on three toons = easy 250mil per month without effort little skill or involvement needed
LVL 3 mission runner 10-20mil per hour
LVL 4 mission runner 25-50mil per hour both little effort

Add in a little Productions Eff in the mix and 10-20mil per manucfactoring slot per day (with out) much investment

answer only the lazy are poor

So raising the cost solves the issue how?
It seems you have the delusion that high sec gankers are poor.

Honorson
Posted - 2011.07.08 12:27:00 - [9]

no body said they are poor that is your opinion and i never said such a thing

Im saying raise the wardec fee so those that do not fight have never done pvp are left out of the mix

Alt corp ransoms a small corp they cant fight and are station bound
Alt corp informs them lol 2mil per week you staying wardeced untill you pay 100mil ransom

4 weeks and the Alt corps cost is still only a fraction and put smaller corps in the position of disband or pay
only to be faced with another ransom weeks later

PVP should be PVP PVE should be PVE fullstop

The concept of Wardec is to let highsec partys declare war and do PVP legally the fact that this is now being abused needs to be addressed

Alt Corp need to pay 50mil + 10mil thats 110-120 mil in the first week with no pvp
most of these alt corps wardec 2 or 3 corps at a time

potential 360mil cost for no gain and no pvp i think it would have the right impact

Wardecs are over conflict and Territorys not griefing for isk

Or you could demand more of the corp you are griefing, some will cave in, and break a profit anyway.

true some might pay ransom but the ones with a passive earning will know just how hard its hitting the griefers pockets and stay docked

as for asking for bigger ransoms they will just disband and reform and griefers wallet get hit hard

It's not an exploit unless they change from non-war target to war target while in space, such as while warping in or while orbiting you. According to responses to petitions I filed during a war dec as long as the character(s) in question dock and undock every time they join and drop from a war target corporation it is perfectly acceptable.

We had an issue with certain enemy players dropping corp when we were chasing them and then immediately rejoining their corp as soon as they docked; or dropping corp right before they undocked in an attempt to get us to Concord ourselves. One player did it as many 8 or 10 times in one evening. CCP replied that it was not an exploit.

As long as the person joining and dropping never has roles in the corporation they can join/leave repeatedly.

The solution would be to not allow a character to join/leave a corporation multiple times within a 24 hour period.

Earnings like those are quite low, no wonder you do not have a monocle and you are constantly whining about wardecs.

I have been at war last 3 years and it does not prevent me to do any isk or playing EVE. EVE should be PVP game after all.

And if you fly freighter when you have wardec on it just your stupidity.

I strongly agree with this.

I had a 3-man corp and a player had a grief character that wardecced me because I told him not to whine on local chat. he told me his main would hunt me down.
he ransomed me 50 mil to take me off his contact list.

He was basicly baiting poeple on local chat to pick a fight with those that disagreed with him

I agree with Honorson and will go even further by refuting the assertion I have seen stating that "CCP says that EVE is a PVP-centric game". If that were really true, there wouldn't be agents handing out missions.

Any players who bring PVP to players seeking a PVE experience are little more than griefers.....

They are there solely to give juicy targets to PvP-ers.

An answer to this would be simple, any new player joining a corp would not be able to join the war for a further 24hrs the same as leaving a corp.

The same how? When someone leaves a corp he is out of the war right away.

This is true, unless the toon had roles. Why not disable the ability to accept applications if the corp is in an active dec?

Are you that sad that you have to cheat and use exploits to gain an unfair advantage? I think your problem starts with wanting to gank and grief easy targets who don't want to pvp with you. You are most certainly doing it wrong.

Maybe farmville would be easy enough for you to win without cheating?

People often complain that the cost to war dec is too low. Then the griefers cry about people who want the cost raised. Someone here even said that raising the cost wouldn't solve anything (lol).

I'm sure they wouldn't cry if the suggestion was to lower the cost.

Because I'd wardec your corp with an alt and you couldn't get any new members for as long as I want.

This is a chat of the sad people who pve only in eve and the pvpers who truly understand what eve is about.

My advice : sad mission runners, pay the ransoms and you can get back to your 20-25mil an hour and make up the isk in a day, trying to make griefers spend out their wallets for one doesn't work and just makes them mad enough to log every1 off and suicide gank you when you think your safe on a mission, I know I've done that and I'd rather get paid earlier.
Pvpers that understand eve, stop trying to argue with them they don't understand.

The true meaning to missions is for me to get standings back up so I can suicide gank idiots who fly around with 150mil of junk in their cargo bayVery Happy

Note to people who decide to check my killboard, this isn't my main toon. I'd rather not get mails about how I'm a stupid griefer that ruins the game for noobs. Btw for those wanting to send those mails to me, yes ruining the game for noobs is my goal in eve.

Yes, depending on how you do it, it's an exploit. If you apply to corp, dock up in system with future wt's, you "may" be ok because of the session change. But if you get accepted during mid warp to said war target, you'll get a talking too.

I keep finding it interesing that people consider a sandbox game something they can define all on their own.

As for the original post: I agree with the "no joining in space while next to a target"

I think you could implement that the same way you need to apply: only joining while in a station.

A small problem would be nullsec in this case tho. The majority of systems still don't have stations. Considering the fact most players need to apply while in a staion anyway, I don't expect this to be too much of an issue.
