Honestly. You might hate the awesomeness of IT / BoB but without them the politics of this game are dull as hell.

No big wars. No drama. Life is a pale shadow of what it was when awesome corps like BoB / IT were still around. Mittens and co too cowardly to kick start any new wars, sadly.

What do you think, dear CAOD?

No, but seriously, CAOD, don't you think that this place was infinitely better when BoB / IT were around?

I'm pretty certain that they would all have had monocles.

I think it's more a sign that EVE is entering its twilight phase.

And by twilight of course I mean a sparkly skin option in the Noble Market.

I agree, without Molle 0.0 sucks

You know whats funny though, when Bob died almost all Bob corps remained intact with all its players, same thing with IT, I mean Evol has only lost like 2 members but when Goons died (any of the 3 times) and when NC did, more than 90% of their members left.

p sure the reason they stayed "mostly intact" was because of all the alts/inactives, but whatever floats your boat.

Also, generally after one of our "blow outs" there's a period where the J4Gs quit/cancel/try to join PL and those who are habitually annoying get put up against the proverbial wall.

Of course it's by no means foolproof...I mean *I'm* still around ffs.

NC was a collection of alliances. Bob was a single alliance. If you want to accurately compare the two then either include all the failed Bobbit alliances or limit the comparison between BoB and say Morsus Mihi.

Oops but then that would debunk your brilliant theory now wouldn't it.... Rolling Eyes

The whole north exploded, leaving just the DC intact. This happened long after IT failcascade.

So I have to say that things are much less static with the IT alliance gone then around, though give it many of the corps are still around just in a even split between raiden and NCdot.

Also delve is a thunderdome with no one force holding it, if IT2 came back and held it would be no constant battles inside it, only at borders.

When you get desperate enough to let everyone with a pulse and the ability to press a button in, they're technically no longer outsiders. Laughing

Otherwise, 2/10. Try harder next time.

To my knowledge, HUN Reloaded is the only alliance left going from the old IT / Fountain block of 2010. Blast died, Blade moved on, Aternus disbanded, Talos disbanded. Im not sure on the other alliances.
Credit where credit is due, HUN reloaded stuck it out, props to them.

Not to be a **** but when IT folded it was a breath of fresh air for 0.0 warfare. Year after year after year after year…..Mitian dragged out the same old pages of anti BoB propaganda to get goonie and NC noobs frothing at the mouth and bouncing in their high chairs for something to shoot. Goons and NC would then pour their numbers into target systems to create game breaking lag and then tell their members to camp the hostiles into station for weeks at a time because "this is the way wars are fought in 0.0"….Rolling Eyes

With BoB gone the fog of propaganda has lifted from the battlefield. Those pilots who have always wanted to fight using strategy, properly cycling guns, and masterfully crafted fleet compositions are finally enjoying the game. The south is a Thunderdome and the rotting RMT corps of the NC has been tossed out of the North which was long overdue…YARRRR!!

The only thing that has not changed is the strategy of TEST and Goons. They have stayed the old course of “numbers win fights” and continue to grow day after day into massive Alliances who only beat down smaller Alliances. Having ridiculed BoB for this tactic for years TESTGoonDot are currently doing the same thing. Using their numbers they have forced themselves onto the CSM where they directly promote their own agenda and gather intel which directly benefit their Alliances.

TESTGoonDot is the “BoB” of EVE now and everyone is starting to see this….Wink

Back in the days of Xetic vs Russians the Target Painters and meta gaming changed the gameplay. Station Ping-Pong took a toll and after the target painters made it possible to take a station in about half the time, Cyvok struck a deal with Chowdown or what ever his name was and created ASCN. This was a war about static plexes.

ASCN then lived for some time until BOB had the FC's in ASCN and started attacking with a handful of dreads. Dreads back in those days gave the same advantages as todays Super-carrier / titan blobs. The titans back then was also very hard to kill, unless they logged out and died AFK. ( Much like todays blobs where you need a LOT of dictors since titans will doomsday them. Only counter today is a bigger blob.)

The years following that time, up until the doomsdays changed was all about bubble the subcaps, push button. Point the titan, jump in dreads, titan dies. This changed with the amount of titans and the massive HP buff.

Now there has become a critical mass of PL supercaps that give one side superiority on the battlefield in the same way that the old dread/carrier blobs of BOB did. This blob is, with todays mechanics, impossible to stop without metagaming.
