hmm lets see what I can do with this

Eve is really long mining ops
Eve is really expensive clothes
Eve is, really we have no fkn idea we just make this **** up as we go
Eve is really buggy
Eve is r (This slogan will be iterated on at a later date)
Eve is really hardcore like gate camps
Eve is really competitive pvp (unless you have enough isk to bribe your opponent)

Take a slogan and stick with it (epic, awesome, excellence??).

Also let me apologize on behalf of Australians, yes we know our laws are stupid and backwards. We are trying but there's not too much we can do about it Sad.

Well i do have tales. Maby something about the solo pirate brotherhood, and some about working under the surface of eve....might work on something....

All aspects of eve should be in something like that, many plyers only se the "loud" stuf, there is 50% more under the surface.....

Hmm Think I've made a post once like 2 years ago about making possible in eve to record battles and add them to the in game map or a web page where people can use the game client or a special player to replay the battle and look at different ships from different angles.. kind of like a "homeworld" replay.

Think that would be alot cooler than a bunch of dudes mixing facts with reality to make it interesting and showing some screen shots of ther carrier getting shot in a lvl5 mission....

Imagine going on a web site poping out the eve map and lots of epic battle signs all over the place, press one and a "game client like" player starts with the grid where the battle took place. You than zoom in and out, rotate camera /w/e while the battle evolves.....

And as for making it a advert make that special game client player thing open to all even non eve players... Donno not a programmer, entire idea might just be a huge head ake...

OK given a little more time to think on this I gotta say this is a bad idea. This sounds like evelopedia all over again. People still use other sites for most everything, lots of gaps or incorrect or old content, lack of moderation and it's still in beta (4 years after release).

While I love player created content and all these stories and whatnot there are a couple of key questions that I think CCP need to ask themselves about this site:

1. Who is this aimed at?

2. How will you control content? (moderation, filters)

3. What sort of content are you aiming for? (eg. text, videos, images, all good, bad, realistic)

4. How do you plan to avoid the legal nightmare?

The first one is a big one I think. Are they aiming this at getting the message out there to people who aren't playing eve? Cause those people probably aren't gonna looking deep through random parts of the eve sites for videos and stuff. Where they will be looking at is YouTube, which is where they are already so what are you trying to do here?

"We'll have community sharing goals...." This to me sounds like you expect us to go around advertising eve on facebook or sites like "MMORPG.com". This all seems very backwards to me we are moving stuff from the sites people are used to finding them on to one eve site then using our social connections to try and spread it back out for pocket money from CCP? The way it sounds is as if everyone gets the same amount at the same time which would be a blessing for balance (clarification needed), also very drug dealer like in giving everyone a "free sample" of Aurum.

The second part is obvious enough. What's gonna stop this from being a massive parade of eve bugs and mining fleets? or hell it could even be a bunch of meatspin videos? Unless they plan some sort of thing where they are only allowed up after being checked, in which case your just asking for pain.

Also do you want this to be eve only at it's best? Or do you expect this to be a well rounded representation of eve. What format is it going to be? If I decide to make a series of rp video logs is that gonna have it's own section or does it get thrown in with the PVP fights, alliance tournaments and tourists videos of amarr statues. How bout if I decide to write some fanfiction does it get thrown in with the fleet write ups? There's gonna be new forms of this stuff popping up all the time that need proper care and their own special way to display them. Using the internet we can do this however the hell we want, hell if we need we can write our own programs and websites to display it all, WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO CONTROL ALL OF THIS NOW??? (sry flashbacks of Australian crazy country firewall plan)

Finally say I make a video of a fleet fight and I add the song "Requiem for a dream" to it (Cause they song doesn't get used enough /*sarcasm*/). If I stick that on YouTube it's all on me about the licensing agreements when whoever owns that song gets angry and asks for it to be taken down. But if you decide to take all of those videos and display them on your site as a form of advertisement for your game??..... I'm no lawyer but I can see problems with that.

A bit cheese, yes, but good. I like the new aesthetics !
I take it as an announcement for a Gallente buff.

Also : more pilots for New Eden is always a good campaing goal.
+1 for Marketing.

I found that the actors performance to be extremely disappointing. I did not feel like he believed what he said:
"it was a helpless feeling, watching your friends get shot up"
"my hands were shaking"
“they had it coming”
The actor needed to me more emotionally engaged with his story, I don’t think it was under played much, but was not played correctly.

I will admit that it is probably an extremely difficult part to play. But I still really think you could have done better.

The distortion of the fleet commanders voice made things hard to understand, increasing the volume could have helped fix this problem.

I believe that anyone who has not played EVE would have difficulty understanding the situation.

I think you should have changed:
"and let the big guns do the killing" to "so our short range, high damage guns could kill them fast"
“fleet hostiles inbound” to “enemy reinforcements inbound”
“it’s like going into a gun fight with a knife” to “it’s like taking on snipers with shot guns”
“clear comms” should have been omitted or changed to something like “shut up”

The tactic being used to counter the long range fleet should have been more clear. You could have said things like”
“through 200 clicks of space acting as a beacon”
“‘ceptors, get on them so we can warp to you”

IMO you should have shown the friendly fleet retreating after the FC orders them to.
The last thing I think you should have done was have the fleet warp be only one camera shot. (midway between the two fleets at some distance, zoomed in on the inbound fleet zooming out a bit as they reach the center then back in as they land. Or if this is not an option two shots but both from the same location. The sense of how and where the ships were actually moving was not properly conveyed.

Finally I found the transition at the end had lots of potential to create a chilling and engaging effect. I expect that this was true for some but the following things broke the feeling for me.
*The way the actor turned to face the camera felt unnatural.
*The actor and character were facing/looking slightly different directions.
*When the actor turns to face the camera his eyes are slightly off, not looking directly into the lens.
*The camera angle/zoom change right before the transition throws things off.
*The pose change also makes it seem less natural/right.

All in all it was an okay trailer, but the massive number of tiny little details that are off make it far less than awesome.

I'm trying to figure out why I should help advertise a game that I'm not entirely thrilled with at the moment. (Has nothing to do with the incarna patch other than it being 'yet another patch that does nothing to improve and plenty to degrade the quality of the game')

Seriously.... stop screwing the game up more and more and I might consider helping again like I did before dominion.... but ever since almost every patch has made the game worse, not better. It's less laggy... that's about the only good thing I have to say about the changes that have been made over the past couple years.

I wish I was there when someone took an all-gallente BS fleet to defend their station.

On a serious note, I hope CCP get something out of this, theres propably like one out of 5000 people willing to contribute.

Australian is not a race. And if you have problems with your laws go and ask your government to change them. It's your fault to put christian fundamentalists into power. Seriously you can't expect CCP to break YOUR OWN ****ING LAWS, do you?

This is just... *facepalm*

The entire "Eve is Real" campaign is ridiculous. It makes you looks like idiots playing D&D wearing homemade robes and trashbin armor.

Eve is a game, it should be treated as such, and while having an active community is nice, don't ever fool yourself into thinking you've made some sort of "Better world".

It's a video game.

A game.

Game.

This is just embarrassing. You need to get away from the volcano fumes and go outside once in a while.

Well Incarna is out.
•Well the Captain Courters are OK "cool gadgets" but not useful so bla. However, I do like the menus that float but they are not predictable in location but a plus in cosmetics and effects.

•Blue prints being different from copies are nice but I do not like the white. Keep them blue and put A RED C in the corner for copy.. simple.

•Some time when I warp, I can't tell the waves we had are often not there anymore.

•The Icons for the turrets are HORRID. when in flight you cant tell if it is a mud splatter it a ICON they are not very discernable I like the old ones much better.

•Tractor beam looks like what to indicate what it is??? the Magnet Icon you had before was much more discernable.

•When it come to Icons they must be intuitive easily interpreted.

•The Maller well you out did yourself Love that.

Eve is indeed Real to thousands of real human beings who come to New Eden on a regular basis. It's a real place for meaningful social interaction, as much as hanging out at the local booze hole is. I love the new campaign and hope it continues. Eve is a virtual world with a game at the center, not just a game.

Anyone know why Australia is getting the short end of the stick, again?

Seems unfair, no EVE advertizing here, ever, no boxsets available, and now excluded from competitions.

Other than that, sounds a good idea, I hope it pays off.

Because Australia's contest laws are horrid.

Yeah. Here in Australia we can't do anything without the government wanting to either control us or take our money. Want to drink beer out of a glass or wine out of a bottle after 10pm? Sorry, government says no. Have a plastic cup instead. Want to buy cigarettes? Government says "only in plain white packaging". Want to win some Aurum out of something other than a game of skill, sorry, government says you have to declare it as income... want to breath out? Sorry, government wants $23 for every tonne of CO2 you produce... Australia is so ****ed by the nanny state it's unbelievable. Seriously need an election and a decent party to vote for. If only there was a Goon Party here in Oz. Mittens for PM! lol

Well you know... i thought a bit the same: "no one flys gallente blaster setups... but it would be so damn cool!" but in fact... they don't lure, they don't lie, they NEED to do marketing to keep the game up and running. And for more fixing, better technology (hardware and software) you need aloooot of people and of course alooooot of money to pay them. I can tell you that i am in that business, too. and no, im no marketing guy. ;)

So i think this is a great way to reach out and let people know about this game and to keep it alive.
