As eve is always going to be "top heavy" and "older" players will always have advantages over new players, perhaps this may be a little disheartening to newcomers or even put them off staying with the game. My idea is to create a system of reward, ie skill training increase. If players are online and actively carrying out normal business in game, their skill training is set to run at 125% or another figure agreeable to CCP. and when offline runs at normal. this will give incentive to actually be "in" the game more, and make it possible (however improbable) for ANYONE to become one of the most powerfull ingame characters. (however long it takes). IMHO i think this would be more attractive to new players, and in the long run with more players, better for those already in game and CCP in extra revenue. ugh

CCP can introduce a method of detecting and DCing AFK players as many MMO have. a decent amount of time say, as many players just need a few mins afk for RL things, but say someone is 10 mins afk. DC comes in. Training reverts to norm.

Also if the training boost has a ten min delay in coming "online" when you play, then with the 10 min disconnect, you would eliminate any gain for AFK whatsoever.

Only until they realize that it is only possible to use a fraction of the skills in the game at any given time.

It is entirely possible for a new player to reach "equal footing" in any given ship with an 8 year vet.
