Currently EVE is quite nice when it comes to lighting effects. But something about my character bothered me a while, and now I noticed what it was. When you move around with a character that has long hair or a ponytail, the hair is moving with the air that is moving around the person. However, the effect is a lot different when you have just the head moving compared to having a body attached to it.
Long story short: The hair is moving in places where it shouldn't. If a person walks past you with long, open hair - take a look. The hair that is on the sides will probably move quite a bit while the hair on the back will probably move very little or not at all. That is because we drag around an air pocket at our backs while we move. This air pocket is surrounded by whirls of air.
And there you got the explanation why - different than in game - the hair on the side should move while the air in the middle should not. The hair of a ponytail should not move when my character looks ahead while walking. But if she walks looking to the side, it should. Same difference with the characters with open hair.
Enjoy your discussion. I hope CCP will fix this soon.
