Will more MMO's start to develop singleplayer only content like CCP has done with Incarna?

No.

except that this is the first phase of introducing people to full station interaction.
I am glad they didnt release it all at once... its laggy enough without 700 other people docked in Jita walking together.

I actually like it, tho it's not really thought through.. Do I really have to get out of the Pod at EVERY station? I would like to have my old spinning spaceship back, for until I click "leave ship" on my pod..

God, I hope they are improving on that, SOON™.

I'll get out when CCP starts to focus on spaceships instead of consoles FPS and Emo vampires.

Do you know anything about World of Darkness are you being Ignorant? WoD is gritty and bloody. A twilight Vampire wouldnt last a second in the WoD universe. Its not your Oh I'm emo vampire, its Oh My ****ing throat is gone. ABout the only emo group in White wolf would be the changelings.

maybe they are the first and start a whole new genre...the MMOFPG - massive multiplayer online first person game.

From what I can tell..I live in w-space and despite a few hours spent with corpmates I was alone mining some huge rocks of arkonor in a belt they scanned out and listened to music..

It was relaxing and very quiet evening. I welcome this!

Um, ok, because it totally doesn't make sense to roll out such a huge feature in modules?

Yeah, so, when the rest of the station content is released, please just stay in your CQ and play with yourself so we don't have to deal with your moronic perspectives

You mean you'll get out when you meet the cross-over recruitment quota for Perpetuum Online? What are you up to anyway, and have you pleased your boss thus far?

If you can find a copy of "Chronicles of the Black Labyrinth" you can see just how gruesome and foul White Wolf can be. It is possibly the most unholy thing I have ever laid my hands on.

Except that jita will not get WiS features added to the stations, only select portions of eve's space will feature it.

I dont know G0D and i dont know if he is known for trolling but his point is simply valid.CQ adds absolutly nothing accept for a new version of the hangar that makes use of a human avatar (does anyone even actually walk around when they dock to re-fit or check their orders etc and if so , how long will that last?) there is nothing to do in CQ.Why did CCP launch CQ onto TQ instead of keeping it on the test server until there was actually a reason for players to be in it? As is said , it is a SP "experience".

Incarna as a whole ,as a expansion adds nothing substantial to the game whatsoever.I am not surprised that people hack on it as it is void of anything other then minor make-up.Turrets are animated...while very nice and apreciated by myself and a lot of others it seems this move with CQ and turret animations was made to make it look like they launched a expansion and so naturaly ,people *****.It took the company 2 years to re-texture 3 ships and upgrade shaders on them so now we have ships that look so so (,or if you are galante "terrible" with newly modeled and animated turrets on them :D

To add to the argument that CQ by itself does not one thing to the live server is the fact that it is still bugged to hell, another reason to only release it when WiS is ready.

Incarna:

a Testbed for CCP's new baby (CQ) WoD,CQ still buggy,CQ singleplayer feature but then witouth any gameplay to speak of,1 ship remodel and turret animations ,thats it ...

(i am not even mentioning the NEX shop or the leaked internal documents that add to the bad direction that incarna is getting)

Disclaimer : i like the idea of WiS dont get me wrong ,i was looking forward to it but incarna didnt really help so far to say the least and i hope they get there fast when it come to WiS.

Agreed with most people that WiS should have waited until at the very least there there was something there that made up for the lost efficiency of the old style hanger.

But as to cries of 'CCP now devoting little or no resources to maintaining EVE it's all going to other projects'; exactly how well do you think Dust will work without EVE to back it up? Without EVE, and more importantly the strategic/sov pvp aspects of EVE, Dust becomes generic space marine shooter #5.

EVE seems like a huge part of making Dust viable as a long-term MMO gaming world. If CCP starts ignoring EVE after Dust is released, so much so that players leave EVE because of no new content (because new content is the only reason that you all stay playing, right?), then Dust will wither & die after the usual 6 month fps release cycle.

After all, Dust will be up against some of the biggest and most devoted fan bases on the market at the moment; it will need more than fancy graphics, and it will have more - the ever evolving player driven backstory from all the politics between the big alliances, which at this point is not obvious in any other MMO or fps offer at the moment.

My thinking is that once Dust is implemented, half the team developing it will return to EVE. Naive fanboi I may be, but CCP are probably looking at the numbers of players who have stuck around for however long, realised that they're not here because of the graphics or the pve content (which must be created by CCP); most players are here because of the perception of being able to make a persistent difference to the world, which is EVE's biggest point of difference.

As for the other MMO CCP are working on, it's not unreasonable for a company to have multiple projects going at once. Especially when the main one is a piece of software that's getting on to a decade old. Still life in the old bird yet, could use a bit of a spruce up but seriously, getting a bit long in the tooth. Which is why I'm hoping CCP will be putting more work into sprucing EVE up when Dust goes live for the inevitable influx of returning players & newbies.

My 2c, anyway.

CCP is a business. The few hundred people who would subscribe to your vision of the game won't make the WoD MMO pay. The few thousand emo Cammies won't make it pay either. There's a reason CCP could buy up WW so easily.

Also - you've actually been around the Cam? What's the ratio of "throat gone" to "stand around and drama and whine, then go home and blog about my whine"? Be honest, now...

Single player, why not?

One thing that people are mostly crying is removed ship spinning, single player game on its best.

It's called doing what people have been asking for. Yes, it's a MMO but there are many times when your corp mates are not online, you just want some peace and quiet to make a bit of isk or you're just feeling unsociable one day. When that happens, you just want to play solo but with very little solo content, you can't. There have been a lot of people asking for more single player content for years and it's only recently that any single player content has been added. Just because it doesn't appeal to you, doesn't mean it should never have been added. I like to play solo and it has annoyed me to see so many asking for more solo content, only to see CCP pandering to the big alliances and multiplayer content all the time.

All I can say is it's about time CCP actually listened to what people want.
