So, its day two of the meeting and the burning issue of whether game advantage items will be in the Nex store are on the agenda
Its going to be interesting to see what the outcome will be, I feel that if thier was not going to be any "gold items" such as skills, ships and mods in the Nex store then CCP would of made a statement clearing this up at the start of the outrage
So, I feel we have to be realistic in what we expect from this meeting
Will CCP be honest about its agenda with the Nex store and if they are, will they let the Csm's tell us about it
Its an interesting day for ccp, Csm's and the Eve community

So, what if CCP says something like, "it is not our current intention to put non-vanity related items up for sale in the Nex"? How much rage, (and massive free publicity), do you think a statement like this will generate? In fact, didn't they say that already? |

That's entirely their own fault. They said something stronger than that (no microtransactions in EVE) in the past and look what we have. No wonder nobody trusts them if they make vague statements that could go in either direction. |

Edited by: Nullity on 01/07/2011 09:25:13 I'm realistically canceling my two accounts if I don't get an acceptable answer out of the CSM meeting by Monday. Is that "being realistic"? |

If they put game changing items into the store, I will cancel my subscription unless EVE becomes completely free to play and ditches PLEX. |

Actually they said something like, it was not their, then, current intention to do so. I seriously doubt that a company would ever bind itself to a specific promise, unless it felt that such a promise was in it's financial interest. |

What I did not see in your supplied quotes was a statement saying that EVE would never have MT.
He said their business model wasn't changing. How much more explicit could he have been? The drop off in respect for their customers has been huge. |

I have got to be brutally honest with you, but no matter what CCP comes out with, I just have complete lost any interest in them, they have screwed its playerbase over for far too long, the games just stayed stagnant with crap releases, the playerbase has stayed the same for years, because people are just turned off by eve and its gameplay. No on wants that anymore, yeah a few years ago it was new and niche and great, but its only ever going to be that, it snot going to grow because fundamentaly the masses do not like the harsh reward and risk mechanics. But anyway personally i just have no respect for CCP as a company thus reluctant to pay any real money to them.. |

I think it's pretty academic at this point. No "victory" for the CSM on day one - they won zero concessions, or it would have been announced. For mine the most important battle is now lost - that one being regardless of be it for crap vanity trinkets or gold ammo CCP have decided the player will now be channeled towards MT. So unlike history where just about any path in EVE and your destiny is totally open CCP will now cut out game functionality, and probably never develop anything new unless it has a MT dimension. This sounds silly given what we have seen of the CQ but imagine EVE where everything is an MT service extension. Fitting slots, number of market orders. It will likely be everywhere. This little pow-wow will simple come out with a "joint statement" saying that game changing MT is "on the radar" but won't be introduced without "wide consultation" etc. etc. Which will be exactly what CCP wants - some resemblance of CSM "validation" and the Iceland Eight feeling a little dizzy from the spin when they get back on the plane. CCP will have bought time. Sure Jita will burn, for a few days but honestly who's going to notice? The real story will be told (but never to us) when the number of subscription cancels AND PLEX "drop offs" are tallied in the next few weeks. The CSM will never see those numbers but it will give a clearer picture than the "metrics" they were fed today. |

That simply depends on how one views the relationship in the first place, I suppose. And even with the introduction of the Nex, considering Plex, I am not sure that I even see an actual change in their business model in the first place, for all practical purposes. |

Summer last year:
Originally by: CCP Shadow Edited by: CCP Shadow on 24/06/2010 17:30:40 Just for clarification, the skillpoints CCP will be giving pilots to make up for the extended downtime in this case is not tied to microtransactions.
Editing to add this: We do not have plans to go microtransaction with EVE.
Originally by: CCP Shadow No. There are no microtransaction plans, whatsoever. I wrote "in this case" because this extended downtime was an unusual situation. It's not every day we relocate our servers to a new facility.

Our business model isn't changing, you all have nothing to be concerned about.

Actually, how I read his post was someone desperately reading into Shadow's pretty blunt statement to make it sound like CCP wasn't promising what they were promising. Not a horrible person so much as one clinging to a reality that's slipped away (or is about to). |

Perhaps, though perhaps I am in fact not reading anything into Shadow's post and am, instead, looking at CCP from a business perspective. I suppose only time will tell. |

My thoughts are that thiers no way CCP will state that thier will never be game advantage items in the Nex store
They will want to leave that door open, so im expecting a non committal statement that will make the meeting look a success
I cant see them doing a massive U turn on the Nex store when they have spent so much time and money on it
I may be wrong and only time will tell
