Edited by: Hoshi on 01/07/2011 09:41:42 I am not going to give you a full plan in order, too much work but as a Sleipnir pilot I can list the most needed skills at least.
Fitting Electronics, Engineering, Weapons Upgrades, Advanced Weapon Upgrades.
Capacity Energy Management, Energy System Operation
Shield Tanking. Both active and passive (both fits are useful). Shield Compensation, Shield Management, Shield Operations, Shield Upgrades, all 4 shield compensation skills (can be left at 4 for now), Tactical Shield Manipulation (4 is enough)
Drones. Light Minmatar t2 drones and possibly light ecm drones. Combat Drone Operation, Drone Durability, Drone Interfacing, Drone Navigation, Drone Sharpshooting, Drones, Electronic Warfare Drone Interfacing, Scout Drone Operation, Minmatar Drone Specialization (4 is enough)
Leadership. Optional, if you go down that path you should really focus on it. Otherwise it's better to leave it to someone else.
Navigation Acceleration Control, Evasive Maneuvering, High Speed Maneuvering, Navigation, Warp Drive Operation (4 is enough)
Gunnery Gunnery, Medium Autocannon Specialization (4 is enough), Medium Artillery Specialization (4 is enough, for some special fits), Motion Prediction, Rapid Firing, Sharpshooter, Surgical Strike, Trajectory Analysis.
Minmatar Battlecruiser, Command Ships. Some Axillary skills: Projectile Weapon Rigging, Hull Upgrades, Mechanic, Thermodynamics, Nanite Interfacing, Nanite Operation, Long Range Targeting, Targeting, Propulsion Jamming.
Might have missed a skill or 2 but should give you a hint at what skills are used. Also did not include prereq skills.
Edit: Don't aim for the Sleipnir the first thing you do, go for it naturally by starting with Rifter and moving up through Stabber and Rupture and then maybe down to Jaguar and Wolf and up to Cyclone and Hurricane. Most of the skills needed to fly these ships are the same as those of the Sleipnir but you can get away with having them at a lower level. Only real difference is that some of the ships listed above are going to be armor tanking. |

What skills to start with, now that's the big question isn't it :) A little bit of everything I would say. I would not recommend getting a group to level 5 before starting with the next. Instead start with maybe level 3 (only takes a few hours per skill) in most of them, then go to level 4 and finally 5. As you train and fly you will find that you might want to prioritize some skills before others. Fitting skills are some that you will probably find that you want to do early.
Passive shield tanking that relay on passive shield recharge can be fairly skill intensive but Minmatar more commonly do shield buffer tanks which are very similar skill need as armor buffer tanks. A common shield buffer tank would need: Shield Management, Shield Upgrades and Tactical Shield Manipulation (level 1 for t1 shield hardeners, level 4 for t2). A common armor buffer tank would need: Hull Upgrades and all 4 armor compensation skills (to make full use of Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane).
But it's not like either of them take a lot of skills, getting all those either shield or armor to level 4 should take less than a week and you can easily start flying with them at lower levels. |
