Does CCP know the difference between 1000$ pants and 20$ pants?

In the blog we were presented with a sily argument; that only a select few buy the 1000$ pants to stand out, etc, etc, and the norm lies in the 50$ pants and that is not the intention of the Nobel Exhange.

Question to CCP, have any of your employees ever worn a 1500$ suit? Have any of those same employees worn a 250$ suit?

I am going to assume that some of you have seen the difference between these suits. I can tell you first hand that there is a significant difference in the WORKMANSHIP that goes into these different class of clothing. Its not just the "aura" of wearing nice clothes, its that the 1500$ clothes usualy FIT better, are stiched better, and are overall better quality.

Now, lets look at the Nobel Exchange. I am confused as to how you can give your 1000$ example to the blob of **** you call "command boots" on the NEX.

I am confused as to how you can use your 1000$ example to the ****ty low res, low poly count crap models on the NEX.

Maybe you should hire professional developpers and clothing artists to design some clothing for the NEX, as it currently stands the equipment looks like **** and what a 12 year old on 3D studio max can do.

Clearly CCP has no idea and cant even comprehend THEIR OWN stupid Japanese pants example. ANd yet somehow they are trying to shove these items down our throats and make us see that they are only for a select few players.......

Was just a base example. But still even so, relating to your example, Im pretty sure you can see the quality difference in the different suits that exist.

Of corse they know the difference...us paying 20 bucks for pants means we pay CCP $980 less for the same thing. Perhaps CCP didn't realize we already have seen plenty of times ppl trying to sell something for ten times the isk (or buy for a tenth) in hopes someone didn't pay attention to where the comma or decimal was.

My pants cost 9$ each.

So for me its either 7 new pairs of real pants, or 3 pairs of real fancy pants.

or 1 virtual pants for a walk in closet, I mean I cant even show my ass off in my avatar.

I'd rather pay £20 for a pair of trousers that last than £40 for a pair that have a label and invariably don't. More expensive does not equal better.

Now if they were making bullet proof carbon fibre trousers that might be a different matter.

For the sake of argument cloth is cloth. Textiles are almost all made in 3rd world countries and so are most clothing lines. The difference between a cheap pair of jeans and an expensive pair is sometimes nothing. They might even be made in the same factory. The difference is the brand name they put on that pair of jeans. Its the brand that sets that person apart. If abercrombie starting selling pants made of sh*t you can bet every cool teeny bopper in the US would be wearing sh*t pants. It doesn't matter what they look like to you, it's the brand. That's what CCP thinks they're tapping into.

I hate the argument as much as you, it makes no sense. But were there's people with low self esteem and money, there's people willing to use that money to make them self feel better.

Equally wearing a monocle just make you look like the sort of tard that'd stab your own eye out when trying to use cutlery. Laughing

Whereas the streampunk style goggles they have on SISI are the height of fashion and a must for any discerning Bohem pod pilot.

Those are suits. He talked about pants for a reason.

The only difference between $1000 pants and $50 pants is that they're being worn by a guy dumb enough to buy them.

Rage all you want, the analogy was spot on.

You missed a point: there is no unlimited supply of exclusive tailor-made suits and the $1000 jeans are produced in really small batches. Should they go into mass production, their price would plummet to the ground.

CPP could make hundred million copies of the moronocle and give one free with every purchase on the market and it wouldn´t change a thing. It´s like putting an unlimited supply of AT-price ships on the market for their current (while rare) price.

a Jean is a Jean is a Jean?
a Car is a Car is a Car?

No, there are difrences. A person buying 1000$ jeans isn't dumb. There is a perceived value of buying those jeans, and it MIGHT also be in the marketing - something you pay for by the way. They aren't the same as jeans that cost 20$.

The products on the NEX should look better and be seen by all characters when its being worn. Problem solved. And it shouldn't look like a blob of dirt.

Good style

* NZ$100,000
* AU$100,000
* US$100 million
* GBP 100,000
* 2000 Chinese renminbi
* Two thousand Chinese renminbi

Bad style

* $190 — This can lead to ambiguity in non-country specific articles as to which dollar is meant.
* $100 — this is hard to read
* 100$ — Although it is read like this, it is not a standard way to write it. Dollars are sometimes written this way by Canadian francophones writing in English. This is also the way Portuguese escudos were expressed prior to the euro being introduced.
* $200 (US)
* $US200

Wouldn't point this out if these forums were for French speakers. So .. get your style right for target audience please. Less cringing to be done.

I wish OP knew the difference between important issues (dishonesty, 'golden goose', 'ignore what they say', breaking the player economy, vastly expanding P2W, discarding the sandbox concept) and unimportant ones (vampire barbie hairdo pricing.)
