Nonsense, for two reasons.

1) I pay a subscription to play the game. As I play the game I make millions upon billions of ISK. If I choose not to buy a PLEX to pay for my gametime, it is a twist of logic to equate that with buying PLEX with $$ to get more ISK. I'm playing the game, in a subscribed mode, as it was designed and played even before PLEX came out. By no stretch of the imagination does that equate me to buying ISK with $$.

2) Many of us have enough ISK to both keep subscribed with PLEX and buy fancy outfits.

Nice mental gymnastics you need to twist it into somehow plex being free.

At some point ccp got money for that plex. Its value is = to that money. Just cause you paid in isk does not magic away that IRL money value.

For every plex you don't Redeem for game time you lost money.

That guy would have bougth those plex anyways, why does it matter to YOU how I spend my ISK?
So had I used them to pay my accounts it would all be allright? Talk about double standards.. Rolling Eyes

Perhaps if the monocle owners were to buy enough of these things then there would be no need for other MT's to ruin the game and the players could enjoy their uncorrupted gameworld in peace while the Peac_ocks competed amongst themselves for ownership of this months extra special monocle....

Didn't CCP call it 'the war on clicks' or something like that? Suddenly making everyone load a station environment every time they dock is definitely a big step backwards for something already known to be a 'real issue' thank you very much.

If not for all the LOL MT PAY2WON threads maybe you'd have heard about some of the problems people are having, some of the intent that the option to disable it may eventually be removed, or the simple solutions like making it a button to enter the station environment from hangar view.

Compared to the game suddenly ending and all the markets crashing, no it's not a real issue. But since that's all bull**** it's one worth looking at, instead of flying out to have a meeting of how to make players happy instead of telling them they're stupid, and be honest with them at the same time.

Not only that a lot of potential new players got the message "OMG they charge $68 for DLC!!!". The attitude of moronocle-wearers here on the forum isnīt helping either.

So let them troll, it only strengthens the position of the protesters.

I realize this but I dont want EvE to die. I protest cause I want to pull it back from the cliff its trying to jump off of.

Exactly. But IMHO its pretty senseless to protest at the moment. We made a statement. The media coverage was pure win for the protesters. Now its CCPs turn to make a decision: Will they continue to go for the cliff or are they interested in solving their and our problems.

I see my sub fee as an investment into the future of EVE, Dust and WoD. But ATM CCP fail to show that they have a future.

LOL

How about... CCP alts and Fanbois bought them because the protesters made them popular?

We see shallow arguements based on nothing. I see real concerns drowned out by ******ation like quoting documents that were people speaking HYPOTHETICALLY on an issue they were TOLD TO from a position THEY WERE TOLD TO like it's a game plan for the future, and even that is the best most can do in these threads. Usually it's quotes out of context or that don't even say what they say it does.

Your self contained arguments start with assumptions like 'first items not involving player markets' as if BPO's and skillbooks haven't been giving items and skills out of thin air for real money (PLEX sold for ISK) for years. As if killing NPC's didn't drop loot out of thin air. As if minerals ever came from the player market and Asteroids were added with Incarna. Assumptions like 'have to pay money to be competetive' when all along it's been known you could buy anything in the aur shop for ISK through PLEX.

IT'S NOT EVEN A REAL MICROTRANSACTION SHOP
You can't buy anything directly for money!

You could call it an ISK shop, if you can call it a cash shop. Both are equidistant from PLEX as long as PLEX are sold for both, and if players stopped as the doomsday people say they will due to prices, CCP has a million options to keep them available for ISK. You can't found all your arguments and problems on the assumption that CCP will sit back and let it's game implode and expect to be taken seriously.

No.

The protesters being this thick made Monocles popular. I would never have bought one if it didn't make those people cry so much and see threads like this. I wouldn't care to make them cry if they weren't so loud about how stupid they are.

Protesters made it popular, because easily proving dozens of people wrong is fun, and every time a monocle conversation comes up I get to do just that. Laughing

All jokes apart, the monocle will become very popular soon with all the outcries. I'm not sure if it was the intention of the protesters for real but for the light mood and humorous jokes of those who purchased it understanding its just internet pixels not even that expensive x the bitter threads and spam posts of those who oppose it, I certanly predict the popularity of the monocle to increase exponentially.

And yes, IGS threads about such things are minimum bad taste in my opinion. Enough with what Incarna already did to our immersion, making us sit inside disgusting minmatar quarters, telling us that monocles of terrible taste described as " common implants ' are elitist and terrible fashion options."

You can do better than that * winks ( from monocled eye )

On a serious note, yes It's indeed a flaw and i think ccp should change the description of the item to match the immersion they want to portray with the product.

Seems the current move by CCP alts/fanbois is to make everyone think only cool people have the monocle.

And to make it cool by acting all edgy about having one. That only those with balls have will have one therefore its cool. Your not hardboiled without a monocle.

I cant be the only only one that has seen the rash of monocle threads started by monocle owners. CCP give you guys a free monocle to advertise and force the "its cool to have one" meme.

There are also the rationalizing away the costs threads too.

CCP spin control out in full force.

Edit: cant forget all these, "MTs not so bad" threads either. Seems this is the PR strategy until the CSM where they tell us they are doing MT no matter what.

It would be disturbing to think that by dividing your player base into two camps and inciting flamewars between them, you can actually stimulate more sales on one side than you lose subscriptions on the other.

I'm terrible at marketting and propaganda, but I look at the way the forums are evolving as a PR disaster - the cultural stigma emerging is that if you are wearing NEX-apparal, you are doing it only to troll people. I find it hard to believe that would be deliberate.

I suspect it was a dark genius turning something some trivial into such a matter of fun to those who can afford it.
For that alone I really praise the genious behind the mask.

PS: bypassing forum regulations on filtering words to make a point is trolling too lover, just a bitter one. But remember that.

The small minded will always feel threatened by their betters. As is amply shown in this thread.

Don't fear them. Learn from them.

Stop wallowing in the poverty filled cesspool you created for yourselves and aspire to something greater for once in your pathetic, fearful, little unimportant existence.

I, for one, welcome our new monocle overlords.
