I think you missed the point of the thread. It is a simplistic yet sharp commentary on the recent events with MT and people unsubscribing. The data current available of people who have unsubscribed suggests that the main demographic that is ****ed off are people who are new to the game of eve and make the mistake of thinking it is your typical mmo. Granted world of warcraft has had MT for years. If you spend some time looking at the threads or reading the google doc of unsubs you will no doubt find that a massive 92.5% of the people who actually unsubscribed were people who only started playing eve less then a year ago or more commonly when school went out.

It may come as a surprise to you that alot of the people who are veterans at this game are making troll threads saying that they plan to unsub thier 3-6 accounts because they want to see the summervisiters leave just as much as I or anybody else dose.


The only people that would actually reap any benefit from the summervisiters not unsubbing from eve is CCP. The internal email the was leaked is indicative of the CEOs knowledge that at this point eve is dropping dead weight anyway.


Edit: if you take time to stop and listen you will notice alot of the same people who are protesting in jita are trying to SCAM local with protest related scams.. Now why would they do that? Why would they want isk if they plan to unsub?

Spoiler: It's because they are trolling! We the legitimate eve player base feeds on the tears of the summer scum. Never before has there been such a ripe and exploitable cluster**** of ignorent sheep in one system at a time. This is a comedic gold mine for veteran users. That is why you see so many threads about it.

What I find funny about these "protestors" is that they are so uninformed and sheepish that you would assume that there was some sort of EVE specific manifestation of FOX NEWS that was feeding them and rileing them up. The really interesting part of this for me as a psychologist and behavioral analyst is that there is no centralized source of misinformation.

Yet here we are.. there are people that actually believe that the ONLY WAY to buy vanity items is with real money.

I would argue that the older veteran player base saw a brilliant opportunity to scare away all the new users in one blow. Half of these people protesting have no actually read the documents in question and those that have fail to realize that an internal document is often and especially in this case meant as a means to brain-storm not set in stone an idea to be implemented.

There is alot of Fear Mongering and tragically misinformed players out there and i frankly could not be happier because within the month all these useless cancerous summervisiters will be gone. All that will remain are the serious, intellectual and sophisticated ever players that I have come to expect from this community.

I think some people have taken things a little far, though on the other side of the coin I'm really uncomfortable with how CCP are acting. A business that runs on on such a small niche shouldn't tell the consumers to go have intercourse with themselves

See that is where I I have to disagree with you.. This is just my oppinion though. While what I posted above in this thread is citeable and based in actual math what I have to say now is not.

I personally think CCP should release a dev blog listing ALL of the accounts that have Unsubbed since the controversy and then at the very bottom of the page say

"Nothing of value was lost"

If they did something ballsy and "fearless" like that then not only would I be reminded of the CCP I know and love but I would be deeply motivated to acts of generosity towards ccp.

I think what this community really needs is a wakeup call. A spiteful acidic and sharp jolt that just solidifies everything I have pointed out in this thread.

If people are too dumb to see that the stuff in that pdf was brainstorming and not actual "stuff that is 100% on the table" then they really don't have the mental capacity for eve and it is truly a miracle that they have made it this far.

If CCP actually stood their ground and started doing something other than that terrible Zulu blog, like being honest and open with the community (like they used to be), I think this whole thing could've been averted.
