The guys screaming "waaargh, no pay-to-win, mad as hell, burn CCP" would like you to believe that would be "a win".

But you know what you would have called it just a month ago ?

LOOT PIŅATA !

So, what exactly changed from last month other than a lot of extra rage ?
Twisted Evil

Sure, CCP has screwed the pooch with a lot of things, and it's obvious a lot of people are mad.
Hell, *I* don't like quite a few things CCP did either, and I don't have any hopes it will get any better any time soon.

But still, since when are high SP counts and expensive gear no longer "LOL, EBAY" and "YAY, LOOT PIŅATA!" but instead "GAH, HE WON" ?

You of all people should know the importance of AUR sold items (ships, ammo, etc.) not being involved with the player economy.

ONLY if the equivalent AUR price of a new item in the NEX ends up similar to (or god forbid lower than) the equivalent pre-existing item.
As long as NEX pricing comes up at radically higher prices compared to similar pre-existing items, the "bypass player economy" argument is completely moot.
And even if pricing would be similar, you're still forgetting that YOU CAN BUY THEM WITH ISK TOO, INDIRECTLY.
It might raise the price of PLEX in ISK, but then you're not really complaining about the economy, you're complaining of PLEX prices.

Sure, you're "bypassing the economy" or whatever, but just how many Estamel-equivalent items do you think would be purchased from the NEX shop if they'd ever make an appearance in there ?
And how exactly does that make any bloody difference to 99.999% of the population which never ever in their entire EVE life have seen Estamel in space ?

Boo-hoo, so you buy it from a shop instead of another player. Big deal. Unless you're an officer farmer and the prices are too low, you shouldn't even begin to care.
Afterall, CCP already controls the number of those items in existence already by tweaking the spawn rates and loot table drop chances - if anything, this gives players control over volume and CCP control over TOP price in relation to PLEX price, but PLAYERS also drive PLEX price so, basically, this gives players control.
It still doesn't really matter all that much.

What matters is : since when are high SP counts and expensive gear no longer met with "LOL, EBAY" and "YAY, LOOT PIŅATA!" derision, but instead considered a sign of "winning" ?!?

Frackin' hell, they could even be selling SP for AUR for all I care, as long as the AUR cost would come up to one order of magnitude higher than purchasing a high-SP pilot from the character bazaar with ISK.
It's all just a matter of the right price, so only the most ADD-riddled people would bother with the NEX, so that it really doesn't affect the game as a whole, but CCP still gets to milk somebody for cash.
AND WE CAN LAUGH AT THEM EVEN HARDER FOR SPENDING WAY TOO MUCH.

Be mad that CCP put up mostly crap expansions in the past 2 years, be mad that old content is left to rot instead of being iterated on, be mad that they crappily rebalanced moonmins, be mad at a lot of other things they screwed up on and will almost certainly keep screwing up on, but WILL YOU SHUT THE FRELL UP ALREADY ABOUT THIS MICROTRANSACTION // PAY-TO-WIN DREN ?

P.S. This thread needs more flames.
It's awfully quiet on the "STFU, Akita, you n00b" front.
I might even begin to think you're starting to agree !

Normally I'd agree with you, but I can't defend the game anymore. Everything is broken and all CCP does is introduce one flashy bugged broken feature after another trying to revitalize things... the RMT is just the last straw for me

Perhaps it'd be magically spawned loot pinata that you could get respawned for a fee?

Not sure what planet you've been on recently. A lot of people are actively pumping Eve up while cashing out. You look the same in this post. Really Neutral

The result of this meeting should be mutual agreement of how virtual goods and services will evolve in EVE. Other issues may be brought up and we urge you to contact the CSM with your comments and concerns so that they may be addressed at this session.

However, just to prove the point of the Fearless newsletter and give you a further understanding of what it is then there are no and never have been plans to sell "gold ammo" for Aurum. In Fearless people are arguing a point, which doesn't even have to be their view, they are debating an issue. This is another example of how information out of context is no information at all.[...]

What do you call a fleet of Golden Titans with an AoE doomsdays invading your space?

And the problem is, P2W removes the sandbox, it's pay CCP, blow people up, no more industry/market/etc.

You seem to be seriously missing the point here

1) They can buy ships, without taking part in the eve economy
2) There is talk of the ability to buy skillpoints
3) Gold ammo, store exclusives... who know what else? ugh

If they are going to bring full MT, can I have my own, special "I WIN" button that can be mounted on any ship? And since greed is good, how about $500 for the greed?

I'm sure, all MT advocates will enjoy such a game.

Welcome to Credit Cards Online btw...

Nothing and nothing should. As soon as CCP is kind enough to stop giving the run around and answer questions the better.

Also No one had to win that Aurum Raven, or Rat for those Mods or Produce the Rigs Drones and Missiles it uses.

The Plex Bought Super Raven was worked for by someone.

We actually do, once in a while, have brains and like to be constructive. Otherwise we just love to blow up stuff and do all sorts of crazy things.

Say, you are one of the richest players in EVE and always like to make a profit of the game changes. How many of these vanity items did you buy in order to speculate on them?

Did you notice with the learning skills refund that CCP can now add SP's to your character? Don't think for a minute the effort implementing that wasn't for a further purpose.

Somebody had to make/grind for that bhaalgorn and the fittings, it didn't pop into existance when you gave CCP money and a regular armageddon and some t1 fittings.

Have the last few days passed you by? CCP won't confirm that MTs are not to be used for non vanity items. It's a simple question and an easier answer. All they have to do is say no but for some reason they won't......

They can't they have to find one for sale and use money they got from another player to pay that player for his Bhaalgorn that he worked for.

As long as the AURUM items don't have stats that are unobtainable by players without AURUM, the only issue is the mineral market/economy.

CCP posts have stated that this will be done through BPOs/BPCs for AURUM, or as a trade in. (Scorpion + 1k AUR = Painted Scorpion).

Although they were considering doing a test by directly offering the Ship for AUR, this has been put on hold.

He knows, but he's also not jumping the gun like you all are.

Also, he understands that you can buy AUR with isk and still get your fix of "gold ammo" AND that that "gold ammo" will be supplied as a bpc which will still need input from the eve economy.
